Due to a booking error at another hotel, we were rebooked into “Albans Hotel Sonne” and we can only say that it was the best thing that could have happened to us.The operator and the whole team were always super friendly and really tried to fulfill every wish. Our room was large and clean, the food was fantastic.Here the boss still cooks personally and you can taste it.Tilo puts so much warmth and passion into his restaurant and hotel, is always in a good mood and, despite all the work, still takes some time to chat with his guests.High praise, you can tell that you do this with a lot of passion.We came to you by chance, but we certainly weren't there for the last time. 🥰

Although a little refreshment could do the rooms some good, they still remain very clean, very comfortable and pleasant.Tilo is really nice and takes great care of his guests. The breakfast is really complete.The hotel is very well located, in a very pretty valley with hikes that leave directly from the town and very central to see all the key points of the black forest.In short, very good value for money.

Great place, rooms were clean and spacious. Good German fare on the food and drink front. Hosts spoke English, which was welcome. Great staging point to ride the wonderful road in the mountains here.

Very neat location, super clean, Tilo is a very attentive host. The hotel has a limited number of rooms, which ensures that it is very quiet to sleep. We slept at the back on the third floor. Spacious parking, terrace, small garden at the back where we also sat for a while. Very spacious rooms, bathroom with shower, towels, hairdryer.Breakfast five stars, and Tilo did much more than necessary to accommodate my gluten and lactose intolerance.The dog was welcome (9eur per night).Also had a very tasty meal in the evening, convenient that you don't have to leave the house. If you would like to, there are a number of options within a ten to twenty minute drive from De Sonne.Very extensive information about what there is to do in the region, tips for walks, and also very extensive practical information in the room (e.g. where to find a pharmacy, laundry or ironing service, ...).Located next to a small supermarket. Useful!Keep in mind that you can easily walk very close from the hotel, or leave by bicycle or motorbike for a (multi-day) or (day) trip. However, if you want to visit the region more broadly, you will have a slightly longer drive to a village, city, or other walking area, easily 30 minutes or more. We get used to it quickly, but it can be important to know this in advance.

The food wasn't great at all. Salad was just sour and didn't taste like anything. The pork loin was stringy and tough. Unfortunately the sauce is just a stirred-in ready-made packet. I'm not complaining, but either I can cook and offer my guests great food and if I can't cook I do another job. Don't take your guests' money out of their pockets for such food. The four of us left almost €100 on stringy, tough meat, tasteless salad and ready-made sauce. The innkeeper is happy that he has made a lot of money and the guest is annoyed that he has lost a lot of money for such a meal. Dear innkeeper and chef, please pursue another profession that you are better at.
