After a wonderful hike, we took a break at the Naturfreundehaus Badener Höhe, the perfect location for it. The Maultaschen with potato salad were simply delicious. Clear recommendation for all hikers and nature lovers.

A wonderful place to enjoy good food and nature.Vladimir and Ludmilla, who run the house, are very nice people!The short hike (almost 2 km) from the parking lot at the former Kurhaus Sand is good for body and soul.Since the Naturfreundehaus Badener Höhe is located in the national park, you are not normally allowed to drive to it.

We were there today with 4 people at 11 a.m. and wanted to eat something. The landlord only greeted us in an aggressive tone with the words “You can’t read?” considered because we had overlooked the little information that it is only open from 12 p.m. The door was then slammed shut.

Beautiful view on a hike to Badener Höhe. We ate Maultaschen with potato salad. Great seats outside on the balcony. However, the tenant had a charm of his own ;) Self-service, reasonable prices

We were there as a small hiking group and were served extremely attentively.The hut owner offers very sustainable food, with all ingredients coming from the region wherever possible. Many dishes, including breakfast, are vegetarian and extremely tasty. We had half board and had homemade spinach dumplings and ratatouille with cheese gratin and salad for dinner. It was visibly cooked with love. When it comes to meat dishes, the host pays attention to how the animals lived before and always looks at the farms themselves. In the evening he was preparing Königsberger Klapse for a tour group the next day and needed us to try a portion. They were also very tasty.As for wine, you can order completely natural wine from the region, we tried it and were thrilled. But you can also get more conventional, standardized wines.Our room had three bunk beds, and you could look directly at the sky from the top bunks. The mattresses were good.

Anyone who comes to the Naturfreundehaus Badener Höhe as a hiker and is prepared for a hiking home will feel at home there. The host couple is friendly, uncomplicated and helpful. The rooms are clean and in good shape. The sanitary facilities too. Well, the mattresses aren't a bit too soft and the pillows could be bigger. But after 20 km of walking you can sleep so well and soundly. The breakfast is hearty and fills you up. In general, most of the meals offered in the house are home-made or are of very good quality. Whatever is cooked tastes excellent. The location is idyllic in the forest, it is around 2 km from the car park and the bus stop on the sand, which has to be covered on foot. The big hustle and bustle of the Black Forest High Road is left out. A good 6 km away is the Badener Höhe, 0.3 km to the Mehliskopf adventure center (if you need it), 2 km to the beautifully situated Sandsee and around 2.3 km to the Sand bus stop, where there is a connection to the X45 line Baden-Baden to Ruhestein with hourly trips in both directions exists. House guests receive the Konus card, with which trips in the KVV tariff area are free.We really enjoyed it and would love to come back.

We stopped here on our day hike and were given a very friendly welcome. There was rhubarb spritzer 🤩 and homemade cake, which was really delicious. We then have our cakes on itEnjoyed the balcony with a wonderful view. Anyone who hikes past the Nature Friends House should definitely stop off there ☺️

After about 2 km on foot through the beautiful Black Forest you reach the Badener Höhe. Quaint restaurant with a great view of the forest.

Rooms very narrow and small in a room of 7 with a total of 1 socket which is impossible in today's world. There were bed bugs and all sorts of animals in the room. Food wasn't great. Very one-sided and disgusting. The owner Vladimir Funk is a very nice and lovable person. The house is suitable for table tennis, which is probably the only activity. The path from the village of Sand to the Nature Friends House is about 3km and very long Not possible with heavy luggage. The Mehliskopf and Hundseck ski area is in the immediate vicinity. There is also a bobsleigh run, climbing garden. Bus stop about 3km from the house with direct connections to Baden Baden and Forbach
