We booked at very short notice and were welcomed very nicely. The room and bathroom were very clean. The beds were very comfortable with cozy blankets. The service was top and individual requests (for breakfast) were addressed. Highly recommended. Thanks.

The hotel is not state of the art. But that's exactly what makes it more likeable for me. Service is top. At breakfast there was something for everyone in the family. Important places in Braunlage can be reached quickly on foot.

At first you think oh ha, what does it look like from the outside.But the room has been completely renovated. Just like the bathroom. There was also new furniture and a well-kept flower on the balcony.The breakfast is sufficient and tasty and was checked again and again.The new owners, I think, are trying hard to bring this run-down hotel back into shape.But renovations cost a lot of money, so they do it little by little.All I can say is that they have my complete respect and I hope that it will look great one day.

Used for an overnight stay on the Harz crossing. As already written, nice reception and very clean rooms with spring mattresses and feather beds that have been used for a little too long. Cozy and warm for some, but a problem for a fellow traveler with allergies. The pillow was kindly replaced immediately.Very quiet location and yet close to the city center.Conclusion: We enjoyed a quiet night with a very good price-performance ratio. The rustic bathroom was beautiful again and a journey back in time to the generation of my own grandparents.

When I arrived at the hotel with my son, we rang the bell and a short time later a very nice gentleman opened the door. Probably the owner! We were taken to our room and shown where breakfast was available in the morning, which we booked on site and then paid for directly. The room was simply furnished but very well cleaned. The bathroom isn't the newest either but it was cleaned very well and there was nothing to complain about!The next morning we came into the dining room and a table was set for us. There was also a small breakfast buffet with everything you need... Fresh rolls, fresh cold cuts (sausage, cheese), boiled eggs, cake... Simply great. All in all we would like to come back... Thank you very muchThere are always people who have something to complain about! But hey, the room cost 58 euros a night, it wasn't the most modern but it was clean and the breakfast for 10 euros was really great! Hot water, coffee and tea are available in the hallway 24/7 at no extra charge.

The Hotel garni Am Hochwald is well suited for travelers who really don't have any high expectations.It's enough to sleep.The important thing is that everything was clean and the employee?/boss? was friendly.There are parking spaces right in front of the door and the walk down to the shopping area is also easy.Some of the furnishings are older and the showers have a very high entrance (not suitable for people with limited mobility).Garden/entrance area/house facade not really well maintained from the outside.Breakfast for 10€/adult. & 5€/child was enough, but with baked rolls and the cheapest cold cuts/cheese but also Actimel, Zott cream yoghurts, cake bars.There is a small coffee/tea corner in the hallway and it is free, very attentive.When you leave you just leave the key in and leave, it's very impersonal.So, as mentioned, suitable for more undemanding travelers.

The hotel is a unique construction site. Completely unkempt both in front of the house, in the so-called garden, or the house as a whole. The pictures on the portals do not correspond to the actual condition.

We had booked including breakfast, so the operator is on a par with a 4* hotel. Everything you want is there. Even small special requests were fulfilled immediately. The room, yes, simple but functional.

The hotel is in a very quiet location, but not too far from the beaten path. The rooms are very clean, functional and well equipped. The breakfast was rich and served in a very pleasant atmosphere. The staff was super friendly and the contact before arrival was uncomplicated and friendly. Parking was possible right in front of the house and we felt completely comfortable. We would love to come back because the price/performance ratio is almost unbeatable. Thank you!

The hotel is small, cute and cheap. Although the building itself is not clean, (from the outside) the inside of the building is so clean that you could literally eat off the floor. Rooms have great views, breakfast is also 100% perfect! Gladly again! The service is super nice and keeps the interest of the guests in mind. (Breakfast is until 10 a.m., but if you come in at 9:59 a.m. you can have breakfast after 10 a.m., you won't be locked out like in most hotels) Check in is by ringing the bell, and check out is easy by leaving the room key in the door gets stuck. It's very quiet at night, so you can have a good night's sleep. The bathroom is super clean and hygienically correct! (Even more than at home, although mine looks like the one in the advertisement 😅) Many words in short, I will come back to this hotel when I go on vacation to Braunlage again. It would have easily earned the 5 star hotel designation! 😊
