Good-bourgeois hotel with a cozy guest room. Price-performance 100% okay. We had very nice service and the food was delicious. Our room was clean and well maintained. Our dog also felt comfortable. :-) After one night we continued towards Croatia. Nice to have been with you. We'll be back.

Growing Rating:2024:The premises haven't changed much in the last 6 years. In contrast to before, breakfast is served or taken in a different room. The breakfast isn't as good as it used to be. On the whole there is a selection of sausages, cheese and other things, but anyone who has been to the hotel several times will see the differences.The rooms, we had a corner room (family room), seem old-fashioned, no air conditioning, loud.2018:Small, well-run hotel which is always a good stopover. You can recharge your batteries here in an idyllic location. The kitchen is acceptable, prices are okay.

Passau was the last stop on our vacation. We stayed in a total of 6 different cities and accommodations. Unfortunately, the Kirchenwirt was our worst stop at the end. It was nice to notice upon arrival that the team was completely overwhelmed. No “Welcome, nice to have you here” etc. Just give us the key and that’s it. We had called beforehand because we wanted to eat something and asked if that would be okay. When we arrived, however, everything in the beer garden was full. Nothing was kept free for the house guests who had announced their arrival. After we got a seat later, I was initially happy about the good prices for the food, but later realized that it was just simple deep fryer food with ready meals. It quickly became clear how the good price came about. In the room we found that the shower was leaking and we watered the bathroom. The owner knew this, but no one pointed it out to us...Really crazy. The first thing you have to do is dry everything out. There's no point in sleeping in in the morning, because the inn is right next to the church. The bells ring here at 6 a.m. and again on Sunday because there is a church service. At breakfast in the nice garden I had to set the table myself because no one was able to provide us with crockery and cutlery on the breakfast table. This happened and on both days. There were several tables inside, but only a few outside. They just watched us go out into the garden and come back to get dishes and cutlery. You ask yourself who is the guest and who is the host.... There was no thank you, no goodbye, no good trip!!! We thought to ourselves, we probably shouldn't come back after all. We probably won't either. In Austria and at our other stations in Bavaria we experienced something different.Finally, the price...we paid more for the room than in the Seminaris Hotel in Nuremberg, which was better equipped and more spacious.

Super delicious food. Both the ox with dumplings and the stuffed schnitzel with potato gratin. Despite the fact that it was really busy, we got our food quickly.

Reservation canceled at short notice due to other guestsWe reserved a room in December for a wedding reception at the end of April. The accommodation was within walking distance of the celebration location, which is why we chose it.3 days before the celebration I was informed by email that Bulgarian craftsmen would have to stay in the inn at short notice until May and that there would therefore be no more rooms available. The landlady is sorry, but there is no other way, because the craftsmen, who have been in the accommodation since January, cannot be relocated for one night.Instead, she organized accommodation for us 2km away and offered to drive us to the party and pick us up again.We had no other choice and accepted this offer. The driving service worked perfectly, even in the evening. The alternative accommodation was fine, but did not meet the standard of the inn.I would not book at this inn again and in hindsight I would have preferred to book a room at the nearby hotel as I am hopeful that hoteliers understand the concept of a reservation. Economically, the landlady's approach may have been very advantageous for herself. This also made it easier for the craftsmen. But canceling a reservation at short notice because of a better guest is a business practice that I hope doesn't catch on. Two stars because at least alternative accommodation and travel were taken care of. Why the craftsmen weren't relocated is a mystery to me. After all, there was a contract with us.

We were here for dinner in the evening. The rooms are individually furnished and have a nice personal and private flair. The dishes are well selected. The friendly service played a large part in making it a very pleasant meal. The price-performance ratio is good.
