We are on the cycle path via Claudia Augusta.Unfortunately there was no free accommodation on the way and we had to come hereA detour of 15 km uphill.The rooms are attractive but not too big. It's always nice to come here. I estimate we have been here 20 times and have never had a bad experience.

Very high quality hotel. A parking lot to park. Be careful, we are in the middle of nowhere. A designer, romantic, and very clean room. Access to the sauna and swimming pool are a real plus. We had the buffet for dinner, which was very good and plentiful. Breakfast also good. I recommend !

Very nice staff.Unfortunately understaffed. This results in a bad mood among the staff.Only one coffee machine for the entire breakfast area. Very long lines.Chaos at breakfast because no one clears the tables and there is no staff to take care of guests.There is no staff for the gamsbar, so it is closed even though it should actually be open.The day bar still closes at 9 p.m.No more drinks.Staff argue in front of guests.Savings are being made at the wrong end here.More staff results in satisfied guests and satisfied employees.

At the end of our almost 3-week motorcycle tour through Switzerland, France, Spain and Italy, we wanted to relax briefly before the last stage in the Alpenhotel Ammerwald. According to the booking there should be a pool and a sauna. So I asked the hotel directly and received an offer promptly, but this was around 30 euros more expensive than with Booking, which is relatively unusual. For this reason we booked via Booking. On Wednesday we arrived around 3:30 p.m. Check-in was quite impersonal and not overly friendly. We briefly received an A4 piece of paper with the hotel information (a joke considering a room price of around 205 euros including half board), then went to the room and into the sauna. The room is quite chic, homely and exceptionally furnished. Yes, there was a sauna, but it doesn't deserve the name. This is located in the entrance area to the “pool”, which is reminiscent of a pool in a rehabilitation center. This means that all guests who go into the pool walk past the naked sauna guests. In the “relaxation room” there were 5 completely dilapidated loungers, so there was no relaxation here. We think it's a bit outrageous that in this price range you can only get a bathrobe for a fee of 6.50 euros and that the WiFi is limited (I usually don't value WiFi, but I read it on the great note). The outdoor area was obviously very nicely designed, but we weren't able to use it much due to the rain.The evening buffet took place at two table times, we chose the second because we wanted to relax in the sauna. According to the “information sheet” this should take place from 7:30 p.m. So we went there at 7:30 p.m. and were informed that we still needed about 15 minutes to prepare. When the area was then made accessible, we discovered that the buffet had not even been completely refilled for the second round, so that after a short time there was a yawning emptiness, and the same chaos at the grill, that is, if you had chosen the second round , you were unlucky because some of the dishes were simply gone. This was the 12th hotel on our tour and the one that disappointed us the most. The staff is relatively cold and not exactly friendly, the price/performance ratio is completely unsuitable. The breakfast the next morning was again nothing to complain about, there was plenty of everything, a decent selection and tasty.The price includes a guest card, which is available in digital form. The fact that this is sent to the guest by email after 11 p.m. is of course not very helpful, especially if you are only staying overnight.Since I like to give criticism on site, I asked for a competent contact person on the day of departure who would be open to constructive criticism. Mr. Schalk took care of us, our complaints were explained to him in a calm, objective conversation, whereupon he showed understanding and immediately took these complaints with him to an upcoming meeting for evaluation. Improvement was promised and the price was reasonable.Apparently all the positive reviews here come from BMW employees who, after 20 years of service, are allowed to spend one week a year here for free. Perhaps it should also be mentioned on the hotel's website that the majority of guests here are BMW employees, so the atmosphere was like that of a company holiday home in the GDR era, and how you felt like a foreign body.

Nice hotel, pool, sauna and gym are nice but nothing super special. The nature and surroundings are a bit out of the way but ideal for workshops. The staff was nice and tried hard. The food was really good 👍🏼
