What an incredibly bad place to start your holiday! Rooms smell terribly and it is very noisy. The bathroom dates from, I think around 1832.The photos on the page are not correct, they are photos of the hotel. The guesthouse is a few doors away if you can find it. Once inside, you just have to guess which floor the entrance is on. The people speak poor German and even poorer English, making communication almost impossible.The neighborhood, on the other hand, is great, lots of shops, restaurants and sights. If you still want to book, think again.

Hotel-Pension Savoy has a good location, but the building is old and voices can be heard though doors. Staff was not the friendliest and kept complaining that our kids were too noisy. Shower was partly broken and we were forced to move to another room after 2 days. Breakfast was average, juice was often not available.

Was in Berlin over the New Year's Eve and New Year holidays for two nights.I came solo to attend the New Year's Eve party at the Brandenburg Gate.The hotel is in a stylish old building on the first floor. The house was built around 1850, like many of the houses in the district. A slow elevator takes the hotel guest to the floor. In addition to the hotel, lawyers and a company are rented in this building. There is a key for the room, which should be handed in when leaving the hotel. However, the house entrance cannot be opened with this key.The reception is also open at 2 a.m. (24 hours a day, 7 days a week, including public holidays).The hotel does not have private parking. Car parking space in front of the hotel, on the wide street. However, the street is usually parked from early in the morning. If you wait a bit, maybe a parking space will become available? Parking vignette from the hotel costs 8 euros per day (Mon.-Sat.). There is a parking ban on one side of the street until 12 p.m. due to delivery trafficWi-Fi in the room is readily available, but only for 1 hour. Afterwards you will be separated and with a lot of luck you will be able to log in again a short time later. At breakfast I simply dialed into another free Wi-Fi network. In the district, every fifth/sixth house is a hotel.The television in my room was broken. There was probably no power, but that's not my concern. The staff said the caretaker is not on site on public holidays. On New Year's Eve, this janitor was on the night shift. Okay, I saw him but didn't want to be disturbed anymore. So I couldn't find a solution for the defective television during my short stay. For me, the television was unimportant; important information was also available on the cell phone.The bed was comfortable with a thick cushion, except for a little short for me, who is almost 1.90 m, as the desk protrudes a little into the bed. That's why I wasn't allowed to move much at night.The bedroom with a desk and TV corner on the wall is very small. As a single room still with two beds. The bathroom next to it is very large and relatively modern, with lots of shelves. Unfortunately the shower curtain over the bathtub was missing. Bathroom window a bit leaky and right next to the toilet. Unfortunately, some of the tiles in this bathroom are broken.Next to the entrance door there is a small 50 cm wide tall cabinet in the room. Where there are still shoe shine products and some clothes hangers from the hotel.Soap and a comb are also provided in the bathroom. Glasses for dental care are also available.Check-in/check-out was quick. The room was paid for in advance and only the deposit (20 euros) for the parking vignette had to be paid. I was charged 8 euros for half a day on January 2nd, 2020.Breakfast, due to space constraints, there is no 10 meter long buffet set up here. The small buffet has everything a guest could want for breakfast. In addition to fresh vegetables, fruit, various types of muesli and jam, there is a selection of sausage and cheese. The eggs with filling are recommended as a treat.Of course there are also egg dishes and mini meatballs / mini sausages / bacon (unfortunately it was out - on both days) in the warming bowl.Coffee and tea are prepared on the next table, juices and water are also available on the buffet.What's missing at breakfast: A little more selection of bread/rolls. There was only one type of roll and one piece of toast, and of course crispbread.Fish or other selection, certainly available for an additional payment._Disliked:_ Broken TV in the room. No caretaker on site as he is on the other shift. The staff just gave me new batteries for the remote control. Staff was very friendly, there was an elevator to reception, but unfortunately not to the room, as it was as good as in another building. Everything is very, very old, including corridors, windows and doors (which were not tight).The hallways smelled like great-grandma's bedroom.The room had a disgusting carpet inside that wasn't exactly the cleanest (you can definitely clean it with vanish). The bathroom had enough space, but the toilet lid wasn't cleaned properly. Shower has very old tiles that were disgusting and chipped, dirt that collected in the corners and hair from previous guests. The rug in the bathroom was so dirty, as if someone had walked around there with dirty shoes (putting it in the washing machine once would have been enough).There were stains on the very thin curtains that looked like blood.The bed was comfortable, but there was a bit of a strong fishy smell in the slit.There were two water connections next to the bed, which were also relatively loud when someone showered upstairs or was at the toilet.From the window you had a view of a construction site and about ten garbage containers into which the residents threw their glass bottles every 30 minutes at 7 a.m. and you couldn't sleep after that.Conclusion: if you go on a city trip, it's enough to sleep. You can take a shower while sleeping.Free WiFi worked very well.
