“Fine Dining” is emblazoned on the display case that displays the current menu.As far as the quality of the food is concerned, I completely agree. The menu included “Wiener Schnitzel with boiled potatoes”Before the calf was attacked, however, there was a greeting from the kitchen. Salted butter and spicy, creamy Emmental cheese, with bread. Delicious. The breading of the veal schnitzel was very fluffy. Perfect !The boiled potatoes were also delicious. So why not 5 stars? The service, especially the speed of the service, can certainly be optimized. It took well over an hour from arrival to schnitzel. So it's better not to come hungry. We organized the cutlery for the greeting from the kitchen ourselves...perhaps we didn't understand how the starter should have been eaten.Licking it would have been possible, but maybe not quite as fine. However, the service staff were very friendly. The restaurant is definitely recommended. Just bring a little more time.

Let's start with the positive aspects. The location of the hotel is phenomenal. Beautifully located in a bay directly on the water with private lake access and lawn. Hotel room in the beach house right on the lake with a view of the lake. The restaurant in the main building is - for my taste - good, but not outstanding. I would describe the price/performance of the restaurant as okay at best.Unfortunately, that's where the positive experiences end.Unfortunately, the service does not keep up with the location of the hotel in any way and can be rated as poor - for this price range. Before I arrived, I asked by email to reserve a place in the restaurant and asked whether the wellness area was closed due to Corona. In response, I received an offer for a room and the information that there was a pool and a sauna. However, my questions remained unanswered. The American Express travel portal through which I booked informed me in writing that check-in is possible from 2:00 p.m.When I wanted to check in shortly after 2 p.m. I was first left standing in the entrance for ages and ignored, then I was told that the rooms wouldn't be ready until 3 p.m.When I came back at 3 p.m. I was once again left standing in the entrance like a little schoolboy before I was told that the rooms wouldn't be ready until 4 p.m.When the room was finally ready and I was able to check in, the view from the lake house of the private lake access made up for the exertion. But here too there was a setback again. The room was not tidy. In addition, the room generally gave a very unkempt, almost dirty impression. The make-up mirror in the bathroom had stains, the light in the bathroom flickered, there was mold in the joints in the shower, the trash can was dented, the toilet seat was loose, there was hair on the bed, stains on the couch. At dinner - despite expressly making a reservation for one person - it was assumed that there would be two of us.After dinner I would have liked to visit the Sunset Lounge - but it was closed on a Saturday evening with excellent weather - for whatever reason. At breakfast there was a coffee machine for around 40 people eating breakfast at the same time, everything was cramped and it was very hectic. The parking lot is quite small for the number of rooms. And there is no free alternative nearby. In conclusion, one unfortunately has to say that the service staff from reception to the restaurant to the breakfast area were extremely overwhelmed. There was constant improvisation, discussion and a frantic search for solutions. You got all of this as a guest. In terms of service, there is a lack of appropriate service staff who can meet these expectations - for this price range and the demands that the Caraleon suggests. I would also assume a certain seniority here. I felt like the hotel was run by the trainees. The operators are trying to have my recession illegally removed. For this, I deducted stars again.

Beautiful hotel on the shores of Lake Constance. The service was perfect and the food, both at dinner and breakfast, was delicious. It is essential to see the sunset on the lake.

It's a shame, the hotel had a lot of potential. We were there twice.Great location, nice rooms, good breakfast, friendly staff, but….The restaurant and breakfast area are spatially (and organizationally?) separated. The restaurant is closed 2 days a week.Breakfast is served in the so-called “winter garden”. Good joke, this name, an area in the basement below the level of the adjacent street. When I'm on vacation, I want to sit in an ambience that's just as beautiful as at home. Actually nicer, here: with a view of Lake Constance. In the Caraleon you sit in a hollow, while next to it beautiful guest rooms and a great terrace lie unused. Which guest should understand that? The rooms are very nice, but also partly stuffed with pointless furniture. With us inRoom 3 additional stools that take up space. There is no air conditioning, which would be urgently needed in midsummer. Instead of lots of stools, a fan would be more helpful. The swimming area is very nice, but too small in high season, too few loungers, far too little shade. We had to look for relaxing areas outside the hotel. There are no bath towels either. It's also a shame that a hotel of this size can't create a more personal atmosphere. The staff is very friendly, but nothing more.Only the committed and open-minded chef in the breakfast area approaches the guests personally and warmly, is interested and gives the hotel a “face”.One wonders, who actually runs the store? Is anyone else interested in the guests here?It was also a shame that we couldn't eat on the terrace in the restaurant in the evening after it rained (again) when the weather was great and the temperatures were very warm. Apparently because it would rain again. Which of course didn't happen, the weather situation was more than clear. We then went somewhere else.Of course, we fully understand the complications that arise in uncertain weather conditions. That was definitely not the case in our case. And even if: other restaurants are more flexible!Conclusion:Price/performance ratio definitely doesn't fit, unfortunately! We would have liked to come back.

At the beginning of August, we stayed at the Hotel Caraleon in Wasserburg for two nights.||The hotel has two charging stations for electric cars. That's great. …

The hotel has two charging stations for electric cars. However, the parking spaces at these charging stations are not “protected”. These parking spaces were blocked by cars with combustion engines. Unfortunately, the hotel staff was unable to sort out the parking situation.Excerpt from the hotel brochure: “Arrive, be welcome.”We had a very nice room with a lake view. However, all rooms with a lake view are directly above the breakfast terrace. The night's rest was therefore ended at 6:45. The rolls are delivered at this time. The baker parked his car directly in front of the balconies and shouted at the hotel staff because he didn't have his access card ready and had to somehow get into the hotel. The baker then upped the ante when he had to shout some work instructions to his colleague who was still sitting in the van from the hotel.A little later, the hotel staff opened the winter garden, moved tables and chairs and set breakfast. And then the first happy early riser guests were on the terrace and enjoyed their breakfast with their children. So the night ended very early at the Hotel Caraleon.Excerpt from the hotel brochure: “Recovery begins with rest.”The Hotel Caraleon has a restaurant that is recommended by Fallstaff Magazine, among others. However, how this came about remained a mystery to us.We had reserved a table on the terrace and arrived at the restaurant on time. Unfortunately the reserved table was not free for us. It was then explained to us that we had made our reservation too late and should therefore now eat in the dining room. The funny thing is that we made the reservation for the stay at the beginning of August in writing and expressly for the terrace in March and confirmed it by the hotel with the words “We look forward to seeing you”.Since we didn't want to just be put off with flimsy explanations, we were offered food in the hotel's beach bar, the Sunset Lounge. When we arrived at the beach bar, no one took care of us. We first stood around lost and then seated ourselves at one of the free tables. The table was not wiped and was not set for us. The four of us had a single menu from which to choose food. The starters were then placed on the table for us by the beach bar staff without a word. It was not clear which starter belonged to which guest. That's why we asked the staff. Unfortunately the staff spoke no German and only broken English. Unfortunately, the beach bar boss couldn't tell us which dish was on which plate because she didn't know the dishes from the restaurant. However, that was the famous straw of unprofessionalism that finally broke the camel's back. After all, the Hotel Caraleon charges prices for both accommodation and food and drinks for which you can expect first-class service. And after the serious mistake with the sloppy reservation had already been made, it is all the more surprising that the staff did not want to give us an unforgettable evening with twice as much commitment.Well, the evening was indeed unforgettable. However, in the most negative sense.Excerpt from the hotel brochure: “Moments of enjoyment for all the senses.”In summary I would like to say that Hotel Caraleon could be very nice. Unfortunately, the staff is far too uninterested in giving the guest a good time. Especially when a situation arises that deviates from the “standard procedure”, the staff is completely overwhelmed. The idea that the guest is “king” is definitely not the case in this hotel.Excerpt from the hotel brochure: “A lake. A shore. A heart."Unfortunately, the hotel's advertising promises were not fulfilled during our stay. We certainly won't be coming back.

We spent 5 days at the hotel and were very pleased with our experience. The hotel has a location directly at the lake- with beautiful maintained area to access the lake. The breakfast was great and enough options for everyone. …
