First time there, beautiful location/view, absolutely quiet and a central point for things to do. A beautiful manageable hotel, very nice staff, very good cuisine and very nice, quiet rooms. Very nice swimming pool. We'll be back.

An extraordinarily good and cozy house. Nice rooms, good beds, very good breakfast and menu. Very nicely located, hiking trails directly from the house. There is also a swimming pool, sauna, etc. Very friendly staff. Very good value for money. WE DEFINITELY WANT TO COME BACK SOON!

The LMH was just right for us (4 married couples) for our hike on the Hochrhöner. During our two-night stay, we felt very comfortable, welcome and looked after and were able to fully enjoy the wellness offer including four soothing massages booked at short notice by Kerstin and all the amenities of the house. Dinner and breakfast were very loving, individual and extensive, we all enjoyed Rhön cuisine from providers from the region, there was really nothing missing.(All inquiries during the preparation and requests on site were resolved in a very customer-friendly and professional manner. THANK YOU for that too ;-)))) What was striking was that really !!!Everyone!!! took great care of us. We really enjoyed it, thanks to Ms. Hohnstein and Mr. Lindner as well as the entire team for this extraordinary hospitality ;-))))

We received a very friendly welcome and had 2 wonderful days in the Lothar Mai Haus. The food in the evening was very tasty and we have rarely had such a great breakfast anywhere. We will definitely come back.

Very nice location, but the rest is shocking.Everything was very unclean, cobwebs everywhere, mouse traps under the tables and tables very sticky.My table was already set, even if it had dirty cutlery. I understand all these negative comments, it's very sad that they only come back with outrageous answers. Just excuses, no apologies whatsoever. That's how it was right there. If it were just the hotel, without restaurants and you would clean properly then you could consider coming back. You don't really know where to begin to describe it all. Staff in the restaurant are clearly out of place, they were served for 3 days by a lady who didn't seem to want to work. The food is like a chip shop, every side dish on the cutlet board and the cutlet tasted the same. The schnitzel was dry and tasted like frying fat, unfortunately this "leek bag" was too. Maybe the three dishes that were out the whole time would have tasted different, unfortunately there wasn't much choice. Politeness when arriving and leaving is very important, in the middle of it all you are left with nothing but air for reception and service.I would have expected more from a 4 star hotel, even if the restaurant doesn't have 4 stars you should at least value freshly cooked food and not prepare 70% of the menu in the deep fryer.

“The coffee machine has not been working properly for a long time,” said the service employee. One filling device fills the coffee well into the cup, the other filling device does not do this. See photo. It was very difficult to explain this to the young man from the service. Although he recognized the defect and therefore the unequal filling quantities in the cups, he initially blamed the machine on our second order. In such a situation, as a guest you expect the employee to be understanding and sensitive to the inconvenience. Fortunately, a lady of the house later sorted out the problem in a friendly and empathetic manner. We didn't ask for the discount and a free cup of coffee, nor did we expect it. For this we would like to express our sincere thanks again. My suggestion: to sensitize service staff (in this context, the young man) so that they can simply put themselves in the role of the guest in such a situation and thus also question internal processes. Yes, someone like that has to question that, for example. B. in this case the coffee machine is not working properly.It can happen that something doesn't work. But how you deal with it determines what comes out of it.We'll still come back because it's so beautiful up there at and in the Lothar Mai House.

We had booked a table for 17 people to celebrate a small “family reunion”. Service and food were wonderful as always. And luckily for us, the weather was perfect so we were able to eat in the beer garden. Our family members from Würzburg, Berlin and California were thrilled with the location and everything else. Thank you for the perfect evening, dear LMH team 🫶

I usually refrain from leaving reviews online but I'm still horrified.We reserved a table for 4 people last week and no one knew anything about it when we arrived. We were still allowed to stay, the slightly older waitress was very annoyed and overwhelmed. After a long wait we finally got our drinks, 2 of which were wrong, but were simply ignored. My wife had a salad with champions that was very sandy and tasted unwashed. The schnitzel was dry and tasted like it came from the deep fryer. The rump steak, on the other hand, was very well prepared.Since the table next door had a very good-looking Kaiserschmarrn, we wanted to order one too. But since it was 9 p.m. sharp, we were only given ice cream to choose from. The friendliness also leaves a lot to be desired.To be honest, I have to say that there are too many negative points so that I will avoid this restaurant in the future and not recommend it to others.Chris Gerold

Very nice place,We only had lunch there.The trout was very good but the salad wasn't fresh. But I really enjoyed the dessert.A great place for a weekend getaway.

Hello, we went to the Lothar-Mai-Haus for dinner yesterday for my birthday. I haven't experienced such attentive and friendly staff in a long time. The food was excellent, you just felt completely at home recommend. Thank you for this lovely evening.
