Easily accessible, beer bench in front of the house, almost Victorian garden behind the house, bike parking, drinks in the fridge in the hallway (my favorite beer!), a salon for breakfast, breakfast for the whole day and a real Bavarian as the host.The rooms, like the salon itself, are also historic and may seem a bit spartan, but for me they certainly bring back pleasant nostalgic memories of hygge visits to grandma's!Priced lower than most of the comparable or worse (but more modern looking) alternatives in Donauwörth that I know of.What more could you want? We're going there again.

We stayed one night. We had reserved a double/twin room under the roof, as it was advertised as having a private kitchenette and bathroom, something that is very important to my aunt, whom I was travelling with. We knew that this extra comfort would cost us 88 euro and was prepared to pay the extra fee (as opposed to the 68 euro of a double room with a shared bathroom).Upon arrival we were told that other guests had been given this room and that we had been moved to the "better" garden room. This is a large room with 4 beds (we were still only two people, so needed only two beds), but no private kitchen or bathroom. This was of particular concern to my aunt, as there were other guests on the same level, constantly using the bathroom as well, also during the night. The beds were comfortable, but the room was quite dusty and both the shared kitchen-type space and the shared bathroom had lots of cobwebs and dust. The splash pool ("kneipp" pool) was empty, unfortunately, even though it is summer, while the garden seems to have been significantly changed since the website pictures were taken.Upon check-out I indicated that I was prepared to pay the usual rate of 68 euro for a double/ twin room without a private bathroom, but the owner insisted the new rate was 78 euro - even though it is now, a week later, still listed at 68 euro per night on all the booking sites. I paid this amount, as I did not want to get into an argument about it.

A really nice and service minded host. Very helpful be. Good facilities for bicycles. Clean rooms and good atmosphere on site. We would love to come again.
