Hotel Schwanen

Check-in was difficult, we had made an earlier check-in appointment in advance because we were unfortunately unable to check in after 3 p.m. - this was confirmed in writing. But the reception was not occupied. About 5 minutes after calling, a friendly lady appeared to take care of the problem, but on the one hand there were language difficulties and on the other hand the whole thing took quite a long time. The toilets in the reception area were padlocked.My expectations for hotel rooms are not high - but the room didn't exactly meet them. The mattress was thin and soft - but I liked the pillows (half pillows, probably cold foam). I could have put the door frame together better, the doorstop didn't stop the door from colliding with the sloping roof. The door triggers an alarm if a wallet with cards for contactless payment comes near it - probably also if someone accidentally holds their key card to the wrong door. I imagine it's pretty annoying at night. The bathroom smelled so bad of chlorine cleaner that the smell lingered the next day. Some of the tiles were cracked. It wasn't really clean either. Loud music could be heard at night even though we were staying at the top. The usual "table" that you find in hotel rooms had a "cupboard" in it, but it was missing a handle to open it. There are surveillance cameras in the stairwell, I can't say whether some of them work, but the ones upstairs certainly don't.

I received a very warm welcome when I stayed in this beautiful hotel for 2 nights.The rooms are modernly furnished and you have everything you need and it is very clean.You can quickly get to the city and to the beautiful Rhine.I can only recommend this hotel. I will definitely go there again.

Very serious, nice man helped carry luggage up and was super accommodatingThere is a bar on the ground floor that is open Wednesday to Saturday and has very fine tasting cocktails, nice service from the ladies and gentlemenSince we were there by bike, it was very easy to cancel the bikes mentioned and there was no need to be afraid of a safe storage location

Very dirty hotel.

Freshly renovated modern rooms. Very centrally located, the pedestrian zone is in the immediate vicinity. In the evenings...at least on weekends...there's a lot going on in the bar in the building. Very relaxed atmosphere with good music 🎶 and nice people. We'll definitely see each other again on our next visit to Waldshut-Tiengen.
