I was completely impressed by the Gasthaus zum Schutzen in Freiburg. It is not only a beautiful, well-kept house, but also a place where you immediately feel at home. The food is excellent – fresh, regional and prepared with a lot of dedication. I was particularly impressed by the friendliness of the staff: everyone was extremely accommodating and made sure that we felt completely looked after. If you are looking for a cozy atmosphere and delicious food in Freiburg, this address will help you. We'll definitely be back!

Nice service. Unfortunately, even at 50% capacity, it is not possible to have a conversation in the restaurant. Too loud, you sometimes have to shout at each other. The food is served cold and a lot comes from the deep fryer. (fried potatoes)

Lack of Spanish-speaking staffReview: In August we had the opportunity to stay at Gasthaus Schutzen, although the overall experience was pleasant, we encountered a significant barrier: the lack of staff who spoke Spanish. We understand that we are in a country where Spanish is not the main language , but we were surprised that in an establishment that receives international tourists there is no one who speaks Spanish, considering that it is the second most spoken language in the world. This was particularly difficult when trying to communicate with them. We would strongly suggest that the hotel/restaurant consider hiring Spanish-speaking staff or training current team in additional languages. This would not only improve the experience for Spanish-speaking customers, but would also open the door to an even larger tourism market.Thank you for your attention to this matter, and I hope this suggestion will be helpful in improving service in the future.Sincerely,An overall satisfied customer
