An excellent hotel on the banks of the Elbe. Luxurious rooms and comfortable, inviting communal areas. Friendly, efficient service throughout. There’s a car park, multiple buses stop outside or it’s a short walk to the ferry stop for Airbus or the centre of Hamburg.

Great view over the river but it’s Airbus factory. The service at the reception was efficient but a little cold. The restaurant staff were good. The rooms are very spacious and nice. The parking is underground - get instructions before arriving. Too expensive for the value considering it’s a long way from the city.

Arrived late to the hotel but just managed to spend a some pleasant time in the sun at the terrace overlooking the Elbe. Arrived on a Monday, so not possible with half-board, but the small restaurant across the road provided good food. As always a good place to stay when in Hamburg or just travelling through

About a week before my stay, the hotel let me know of issues with the Ballsaal suite which led to a change of suites. My point of contact, Alexandra, was very professional, responsive and considerate, easily resolving my concerns. Upon arrival, I was pleasantly surprised to be upgraded to a suite with a river view. Both the suite and the hotel were beautiful and well-maintained, reflecting five-star quality. The staff I interacted with were professional and fantastic. The food was also just as great. The only very minor issue was that room service accidentally took a fridge magnet in a Hotel LCJ box (& an unopened bottle of champagne), something I would have liked to keep as a memento. However, this did not dampen my overall positive experience. The time spent at Hotel LCJ was a great experience. Both the hotel and its staff fully deserve their five star status. I look forward to visiting again!

Comfortable, charming and wonderful service. The room and bathroom were large and comfortable. It was very quiet, which was lovely. The breakfast was amazing, with a variety of north German specialties.  …

A visit to this hotel has been on my list for over a decade. On possibly my last trip to my beloved Hamburg, I made sure to visit Hotel Louis C Jacob. My husband and I went and were greeted by a wonderful member of restaurant staff. I asked if we could have coffee in the restaurant. The staff member explained that the restaurant was closed, so we asked to go on the terrace. The kind young lady said we may, but it is a very cold day and suggested we sit in the bar where there was an open fire. Before we went back inside I told the waitress the reason for my visit. It dated back to 1946, before I was born. To me the story is exciting, I didn’t expect the waitress to also find it so. She was absolutely charming. We sat in the bar, which was like being back in my late Tante’s sitting room. So we felt very comfortable indeed. My Tante had lived nearby in Othmarschen. I had hot chocolate and my husband had coffee. So happy with myself that I had actually made it to come inside such a beautiful place on the Elbchaussee. The waitress continued to give us superb service and conversation throughout. We decided to stay for lunch. This was on 18 April 2024. In my excitement at this wonderful experience, I forgot to ask the waitress her name. Here is my thank you to that very excellent person. Sehr vielen dank

I had an amazing week here after an intense nose operation. Everyone looked after me so well and I could not have imagined a better place. I even got lucky and after half the time was upgraded to a river-view room because of construction work. Now this experience I can only recommend! It‘s a bit like being on a ship. You watch the life on the river and it has something so calming and vibrant. Thanks to all the wonderful staff - I will miss you! See you next time!

This is a luxurious hotel by the Elbe. Pricey but clean and amazing. The restaurant view never ceases to maze. It’s cozy for night time dinner and awesome breakfast spread in the morning. You don’t want to leave anymore. ||Over all, it’s always great to be in this hotel.
