Characteristic but dated structure. Family run, very kind. The room shows the signs of age, the bathroom is small and with the shower surface raised 30/40 from the ground, without access steps, without handholds. Not exactly the best in security. The rooms are on the upper floor and can be reached via narrow, steep stairs with steps that are narrower than normal, difficult to access for those with mobility problems.

Quiet accommodation without cafe and terrace. Friendly family.Dinner was very well prepared and an extensive breakfast was offered.Price/quality is excellent.The location is favorable for the 3D arch courses in this region.

Today I happened to pass this inn with my empty e-bike. Actually it wasn't open. Nevertheless, I had the opportunity to ask the innkeepers if I could charge my bike. I was immediately given electricity. While I was waiting I was also allowed to order something from the menu. Such a lovely, hospitable family. There was a very tasty wild mushroom soup beforehand, which I hadn't ordered 🥰 I was soaking wet, hungry and thirsty from the rain and 90 kilometers of cycling. The food I ordered was excellent. Thank you 😊

Wonderful hospitality and a nice, courteous family business. A rustic, secure atmosphere that, as an exhausted, desperate hiker, seemed like a tropical island on the wide sea. After a 30 km hike on my multi-day tour, after much pain and despair, I looked for a guesthouse in the region and the Gasthof Engel warmly welcomed me in for one night. I was fed deliciously (and, above all, cheaply!) in the evening and at breakfast and was able to start my journey refreshed, strengthened and with recharged batteries. Thanks!

Very good food in the restaurant. Breakfast could be more varied. The rooms are very clean but a little dated. There is no bright light in the bathroom. One should have a healthy back for the mattress. A friendly family welcomes and looks after the guests.

Very good food morning and evening.Nice rooms and a parking lot right behind the hotel. It was a very nice stay and I can only recommend it.
