During a bike ride with our dog on Sunday morning, we were looking forward to a coffee break in the street area of Cafe Monument. We were happy to see two free tables outside, but unfortunately nothing came of it. Immediately a woman, obviously the owner, came up to us and asked if we just wanted coffee or breakfast and we answered "just coffee" ... which was followed by the statement that we were welcome to get a coffee, but not a seat at the cafe. We could then drink coffee down by the Main. When we were incredulous, she then said that it would also be unfavorable with our dog because another dog was already present outside. We then politely declined and said if we didn't get a seat then we wouldn't want to drink coffee here either! The faces of the other guests spoke volumes.Conclusion: We have never experienced anything like this before. Just drinking coffee in this restaurant doesn't seem to be desirable - you should make more sales - profit before hospitality.It's good that there are other cafes a few meters away in Karlstadt with nice service and delicious almond croissants.

A living monument! The staircase is a work of art in itself.You can sit inside and outside and have a very good breakfast. The gratinated scrambled eggs are a treat for the taste buds. Fresh homemade cakes and a view of the city gate. A nice place to stay and enjoy. The Wiener family is strongly committed to monument protection and this can be seen in the practical example in the Café Monument.

Nice little café in a beautiful corner of Karlstadt, in a building from 1576. There is no service, self-service, but it's really fantastic. Good dogs, good Cappu.

Very cozy place to relax. Price performance ratio very good. High quality baked goods. Homemade. Located in a beautiful corner of Karlstadt, a few steps away from the large Main parking lot. In the beautiful old town. Great view through the main gate from the outside seats.

Very good homemade cakes and tarts, pleasant and cozy atmosphere, self-service - yet very friendly staff! We didn't spend the night there, so no review. Always very happy!

We are enchanted by the selection and quality of the food, the location and the friendliness of the service staff.Refilled immediately when something ran low.It's a shame that we were just passing through on Sunday, otherwise we would have breakfast here more often. The raspberry rhubarb jam was awesome (homemade?)!

Very nice owner couple, the staff is also very nice! You can tell it's done with passion. Breakfast, drinks and cakes are very tasty.We will be back definitely !!!
