Econo Motel

Hi, I just want to say avoid this place, property owner extremely rude and arrogant, patronizing me for overlooking the check-in time. I completed the non-refundable reservation with immediate pay assuming understanding and customer-oriented, human attitude from the owner when announcing immediately after confirming reservation that guests, my husband and my kid ( minor) will arrive late, after 21:00 due to flight schedule. He answered directly in German as opposed to my approach in English since I don’t know German- the next day in a very very arrogant tone, patronizing me saying that “it’s not possible check-in after 21.00 and that tourists should read booking conditions before making the reservation”. I addressed Booking- company I booked with and they can’t intervene without the property approval. And owner shut down all communication, refusing any suggestion I made: cancellation with no fee -since I addressed immediately after paying- or just penalties, I agreed to lose money for the first night, nothing worked. The owner refused all proposals, I feel like our money was stolen. I wrote to the owner- saying that my kind will spend the night in the airport if he closes and refuses to accept late check-in. I tried to find a sense of humanity, but nothing at all. He simply cut all communication, sort of punishing us for not carefully reading the check-in condition.It’s a motel near the airport, it’s common to have flights landing late in the evening or during night; it’s 2024, you’d assume self-check-in is in place, we’re leaving in a digital world, no need for a person to be actual present to do check-in formalities for guests. But, not the case with this place. Owner decided to punish me for “not reading their rules”. And Booking, as an intermediate party, facilitator, doesn’t really do anything.So, we lost €120 just because of the owner ego, narrow-minded and impolite attitude.This never happened to us before.AVOID THIS PROPERTY and DON’t USE BOOKING.We’re not in a world with “masters and servants”, but I guess this owner still leaves in the Dark Ages. He sets the rules and everyone must obey. And you pay hard if you don’t.

Owner is a complete jerk, probably the most traumatic hotel experience I had. Showed up and said I had a reservation, he said the reservation didn’t exist. I asked for wifi to show reservation confirmation, but he said no. Had to leave and walk to go find wifi then take screenshot of reservation, then he let me check in after realizing he made a mistake. Room was nice and clean and good location to airport, but would avoid at all costs bc of stress it caused us

Rude owner, avoid and go elsewhere locally. We called to advise we were running 10/15 minutes late - we were told that’s ok but when we arrived he had already closed up and gone home. Then very rude over the phone. Place looked quite run down anyway.

To keep it short but to the point, we got a little stuffed for travel plans so we had to book somewhere close to the airport for the night, we also had to go direct to Hahn airport to get to the Motel, when we arrived there were no taxis, …

Econo-Motel Gölzer is a perfect little place to spend a night after a late night flight into HHN. It's only 30 EUR for a single, the motel is new, high speed internet available for free.
