I am surprised at the varying reviews from 5 to 1 star. In terms of price-quality, it is an okay stay. My reception by an old(er) gentleman was mediocre. He sat on the phone for several minutes before I could ask him a question and seemed clearly irritated. The key is ready, right? What more did I want? Well, I wanted an extra pillow because the only one in the room was a floppy one with bunched up feathers. That request turned out to be a lot to ask. I ended up getting the same kind of pillow. The room (12 for 1 person) is indeed very dated as stated in other reviews. The bed creaks like crazy, the TV is really from the last century, but I still slept well and just read a book. The room was really neat and clean upon arrival. Super hygiene! The toilet is small, you can't pee standing up (which I don't do anyway). You can also brush your teeth in the toilet because there is no bathroom. The shower was probably once a closet and has no light. It has a good hard jet and is nice and warm. The ladies at breakfast were extremely friendly, helpful and hospitable. Delicious breakfast, more than enough choice for me!Dinner was not possible, you had to eat it outside. After breakfast the hotel was almost deserted.I thought the hotel itself was very nicely decorated. As far as I know, really German.Parking is not always possible close to the hotel. A number of times I had to park a block away and even once, when I returned after eight, I parked in a place where it was probably not allowed. But there was nothing else. Luckily I was on the road early every morning and this had no consequences.I wasn't able to experience much in Veldenz itself. The castle a little further away can only be visited on Wednesday afternoons. You can't get near it on other days either. It is also nice that it is close to the Moselle, Lieser and Bernkastel-Kues by car. The hotel is a great base for visiting the area. A car is essential to get around. It is clean and tidy, and the price-quality ratio is good as it is now.My stay was in October 2024.

We always enjoy coming here, now for the third time for 5 nights. A very well-kept guesthouse that is reminiscent of the good old days in the 70s. The hosts are very friendly and you are always warmly welcomed. Breakfast leaves nothing to be desired, the rooms are very clean and comfortable, and the garden invites you to linger. There is a lot of passion, work and love here. For us young people it is comparable to going on holiday with Grandma and Grandpa. See you next time.

This is the second time we've been there, every time at Easter. We really like it because everything there is still very familiar and fun.The program on the holidays is also very nice and the mill and the hall are very good for fun evenings. All in all great. We would love to come back.

A very nice little guesthouse that my grandma and grandpa went to.The owners are super friendly and you immediately feel welcome. The rooms are simple but functional. The breakfast is rich and the service is super nice. There are enough parking spaces in the surrounding area.I can only warmly recommend this guesthouse.A visit to the mill with wine tasting is an absolute highlight.

Last August I stayed there for 3 days.Kind people, good breakfast and a neat room. The Mühlenabend with wine tasting was great fun. Nice anecdotes were told by the former mayor and owner Kurt Kruft.Delicious meat from the schweng grill.Explore the area with the E bike and you can eat well in the area

Unfortunately, this guesthouse was ripped off. According to the booking, it should cost €31 per person including breakfast, but we lost three times as much plus €10 for breakfast. Privacy is zero as the shower is in the same room as the bed.

Super great, family-run guesthouse; the breakfast leaves nothing to be desired! The rooms are very well maintained and functionally furnished. The visit pleasantly takes you back to the good old days: the historic hall is filled with antiques from the Wilhelminian era; Delicious Moselle wines can be tasted in an elegant ambience. Veldenz is right in the middle near the Moselle, so that both Trier and Koblenz are easy to reach. The medieval Bernkastel is about 10 minutes away by car. Not far from the guesthouse is the highly recommended restaurant “Ritterrutsch”.

My girlfriend and I were given a weekend with a wine tasting.||When I saw the guesthouse from the outside for the first time, I was skeptical at first, but my worries were immediately dispelled. …

We have been coming for years and are always very satisfied, as hospitality is still very important here! Cozy family business in an idyllic wine landscape! We also highly recommend the cozy mill evenings with a roaring fire, wine tasting, delicious roast meat and the great moderation of the evening by the host Kurt Kruft!!! We keep coming back 👍🇩🇪

A guesthouse to my liking, family-friendly, honest and down-to-earth. If you are looking for a 4K flat screen TV in your room, you should simply pay €80 per night and drive to Trier. But I was here to hike and relax and that's great here.
