We stayed here for a week on our tour of southwest Germany. It is a great location as it is right by the train and bus stations. Our unit had A/C, which was a terrific after the hot humid days. There is no maid service of the rooms during stays under a week, but we knew that going in. Having access to a laundry machine in the building was very helpful too. Overall, a very good stay.

You wait until 3 o'clock to clean and when you go inside you get your clothes dirty because they will never clean the floor. Everything is dirty, I don't understand why I keep cleaning. If you look at the review, they say that if you have a problem, call them and it will be fixed. you call them to tell them that you're an hour late with check out because of a problem, and they don't even ask you which room, just that it's not their problem. How is it not your problem but you work there? What do you work like? I do not recommend. It is the second experience but pathetic

My 2 stays at SMARTments Mannheim have been quite pleasant. The checkout is quick (if you read the emails beforehand). The common areas are nice for meeting, studying, or having a snack. The rooms are impecably clean. They are compact but enough for a comfortable stay and the kitchen has enough of everything to make your own meals. The bed is simple and firm. I would definitely come back :).

* I WAS HARASSED AND THREATENED*—On the morning of 26th October at around 8.30 am, during my stay, I was awoken by loud knocks on my door, following which a loud and rude man (Caucasian, approx 6ft, blonde) insisted on being let in to clean the windows, and barged into my room, pushing the door against me against my protests. On my request to postpone this cleaning, (since I had gotten back late in the morning after playing a concert at the Deutsches Jazz Festival in Frankfurt th night before), he started:1. Yelling.2. Pushing the door open by force.3. And proceeding to enter my apartment after pushing me aside against my wishes.Since I was sleep-deprived and in shock at this point after only 3 hours of sleep. My only objective now was for him to leave as soon as possible. My safety felt threatened.Despite my attempts to explain to him that I had had very little sleep and was feeling very harassed at the moment, his only response was (and I quote)'das ist nicht mein problem'.The man continued to be loud, yelling rudely about how I ought to 'behave myself'.I had not been, rude, loud or abusive in any way. Only expressed my wish that he not enter my apartment. At this point, my only option left was to ask him to finish his job as soon as possible and leave, which I requested. His response was this was to turn to me and say (I quote)'sei nicht zu frech, ansonsten haben wir ein problem mein freund'.Upon asking him what his name was, he refused to answer. When I went downstairs to report/enquire about this with the receptionist, her response was extremely disappointing.Instead of addressing the issue and talking to this man, she reprimanded me as well, pointing towards a notice that had apparently been hung up inside the elevator about the scheduled window cleaning.I have been a regular guest at Smartments Mannheim for almost three years.Though the behavior has never been perfect, leaving much desired as far as hospitality and industry standards of professionalism are concerned, I turned a blind eye due to the convenience of the proximity to the train station. And the occasional instance where one of their staff (Marianne) was helpful.I had also given them a 5-star review upon their explicit request in the past. This recent instance however, changes everything.1. Entering a guests room against their consent is not ok.2. Barging in, pushing the door open is not ok. That is physical violence.3. Refusing to disclose their identity afterwards is not ok.4. Threatening a guest is not ok!5. Reprimanding the guest afterwards instead of helping them while being harassed and threatened is not ok.I am an internationally touring artist who works 5 time zones and needs a professional and safe environment at my lodgings when I travel.I have gone out of my way in the past to be a polite and friendly guest every time I have stayed here.I demanded an official response from the management and an apology and compensation in some capacity. And never received a reply to my email. Its been 5 months. No paying guest deserves to feel unsafe and harassed the way I did at your premises. And I feel responsible for sharing my experiences with future travelers unles strong and suitable action is taken by your management.

Catastrophic customer service. Self checkin for off hours arrivals works though, but in case of problems there is no service available other than a hotline where someone just opens a service ticket. …

I slept for 5-6 months at this hotel from Sunday to Friday for a project in the city. The staff is always reachable and friendly if there are questions or an issue.Rooms are very modern and good for longer stays, all the equipment described online is in the room, dishwasher, microwave, ..The railway next to the hotel did not bother me, the new building has enough noise canceling walls and windows that you sleep well at night.Rooms were weekly cleaned and with enough care for your personal items. If I had a new project in the city, I would again choose this hotel. These are my personal improvement points for the hotel:- Checking for the first time is very difficult and unclear. For making the badges there are two systems. The tablets works , the other one never worked for me to make a badge.Be aware that only during office hours staff is present, if you arrive later you can contact them by phone.- The parking space... a limited parking space of only 12 cars....if you not reserve a spot when your are reserving the room all the spots will be taken

I have stayed for approximately 10 months at smartments and have done so purely out of necessity. Had I had a choice, I would’ve chosen any other place in mannheim, even if it were in the outskirts of the city.If you do end up choosing smartments over plenty of other accommodation options, look forward to being woken up by the fire alarm twice a week (and potentially having to evacuate in the rain for nothing!). Want to cook food by using their services within the terms and conditions? You’ll probably trigger the fire alarm as well! All at the convenient price of 850€ which the staff will kindly assure you they will refund (they won’t).Not convinced yet? Expect frequent internet outages for days on end, personnel (and not the cleaning kind) entering your room without permission, front desk staff gossiping about guests and taking a smoke while other guests await service, and most importantly, the unbearable sound of the trains (God forbid you open a window). The sounds of the city are at their loveliest at around 3 am, when the railroad workers have to repair broken tracks, and when the rail technician’s cart needs to leave for duty (which is conveniently placed right next to the building). Last but not least, await the golden fauna of smartments: plenty of wonderful species of bugs! I’ve had rooms on the ground floor, second floor, and third floor, and all of them have had the same issue, the bugs will reach your room no matter how hard you try. The ground floor seems to get them in more colors though.Anyhow, enjoy your stay! And by all means, ignore whatever they will reply with to this review (if you doubt its credibility, feel free to reach out to me, and I’ll provide proof of almost all I’ve said, as I made sure to document most of these inconveniences). The staff will likely do what they do best: either dismiss all your claims to get rid of you, or outright lie. How very “smart” of them, right?

Nice and clean studio room with a comfortable bed, but a little tight. Even if the location is a little bit far away from the downtown, it is a quiet area and you have different facilities there. Safety comes first for customers and I recommend it for future stays.

Stayed for a total of 3 nights and was very disappointed. To start off, toilet wasn’t clean on first day which should’ve been a sign of what was to come. The rubbish bin was in the closet which discouraged me to store my clothes and other belongings. Also, some furniture was broken; the curtain had missing clips which made it difficult to block out the light and some sections of the closet (shelf) were broken as well. Whilst the bed was comfortable, the pillows were not, making it hard to go to sleep. Overall, very disappointed with the room.. the only positive was it’s location (not too far from city centre).

I stayed for two months at SMARTments business Mannheim - Serviced Apartments and it was a great accommodation. The service is certainly worth the price: the entire facility is fully equipped, modern and clean, and the same applies for the apartment I stayed in, which is equipped with all comforts, the staff is friendly and helpful, I also found its location really convenient, being a 10-minute walk from my workplace and close to the station. Despite its proximity to the train lines, the whole building is soundproofed so that noise is not an issue. Even though my apartment didn't look out upon the train station, I believe that the same goes for the ones that do so.Therefore, I strongly recommend SMARTments business Mannheim.
