The two of us were guests here over New Year's Eve and New Year's Day. The hotel is located far away from any hustle and bustle in the middle of the forest, but is very easy to reach. The house is family run. The rooms are regionally furnished, i.e. lots of light wood, very comfortable. I had the impression that it had been renovated not too long ago, because everything seemed very fresh and well-kept. At this point I would like to expressly mention the excellent cleanliness; I'm a bit of a pedant here and there who likes to get hung up on little things, but there was really nothing to complain about here! In addition to TV and telephone, the rooms also offer Wi-Fi and a wet room. Personally, I found this minimalist bathroom really cute, I've read negative things about it in other reviews, so I can't say anything negative about it. The bathroom was also very clean and well-kept, and offered enough space for me, a weight athlete of 140 kg, for everything I need to do in the bathroom. The price included breakfast, which was also excellent: sausage/cheese platters, fresh rolls, eggs sometimes boiled, sometimes scrambled, fruit, vegetables, were always very appetizing. Special mention must be made of the arsenal of jam. This is not put in a large jar like elsewhere or packaged in plastic, but rather in small preserving jars that contain exactly one portion, EVERYTHING is cooked in-house, and you can taste THAT too! I couldn't try them all, the selection is enormous! Also very sustainably offered in glasses are pudding, muesli, yoghurt and delicious, homemade salads (the cheese salad... wow... I could have fooled myself!). Dinner is usually offered in the evening; you can make your choice at breakfast; there is a menu to tick off. We always had the choice between a children's meal and 2 different main courses, as well as a starter and dessert. Guys, the boss cooks here herself, and it couldn't have been better! Traditional, partly regional cuisine, very, very tasty, decent portions, and beautifully varied and appetizingly prepared. The drinks portfolio is decent, the homemade schnapps and liqueur should definitely be tried! Dinner and drinks were NOT included in the price, but they are absolutely affordable and worth the money! Around 27 euros for a really sumptuous 3-course menu is more than okay for me. So if, like us, you want to take a quiet break in nature if possible, this is the right place for you. Hotspots like Oberwiesenthal can be reached quickly, and the Czech Republic is just around the corner.
