Stayed here for about 10 nights. Room was decorated to a good standard and the bed was very comfortable. Bed was soft and springy but it was also supportive.WiFi was reliable, parking was free and I had no problems problems with security. Room was also quiet despite the hotel being in between two busy roads.I stayed in the winter time and temperature was fine in the room. With that said the air did have a stuffy feel, and I think it will be too hot during the summer time (no air conditioning).Breakfast was disappointing - very limited choices (no croissants).Location was a bit “boring” (a great place to buy a car). There’s one good restaurant about 10 minutes walk away. Your remaining choice is the on site restaurant. Walking into town takes 40minutes.All told, this isn’t my first choice of hotels. That said, I could accept another stay here in the winter, but not in the summer.

The Good:1. room temp ok (stayed autum)2. Right next to Lidl so if need a budget meal one can do so with them.Neutral:1. No taxi rank although there is bus to the station but sometime you must walk bout 30 mins.2. Hotel and restarant Rosofa are not owned together despite offering complimentary breakfast. If you are one of the staff in Rosofa I thank you for trusting me to return to my room to retrive my card. In other word, if you have a bill to my room mentality you in a rude awakening.3. I feel this point its more on Expedia fault. It failed on letting people know that its in the middle of whoop whoop. As no photos showing the surroundings Which is fine if you are that kind of tourist that bit brave or on a tight budget or like blending in.4. Lift its bit tight fit but only got 4 stories. The Bad:1. Dispite its next to Lidl. The room got no fridge nor microwave. So you must missed out on German freezeble desert or snack that need heating up.2. No fan. Yes for some reason its get quite hot on arvo even on autum.3. Asked the reception lady best way to get to Steinweder. Answered idk. Then askrd how reliable public transport on weekends are. Same idk response. For a local that knows nothing...very helpful.

Nice big room. Clean & tidy. Great shower. Unlike a previous comment breakfast is not included and costs 13 Euro so didn't try it. View out of window rooftop of sports hall. OK as transit stop.

We stayed here last week to visit family and specifically to have access to the gym. The hotel is called “sport life,” and they do not have an open gym, which was extremely disappointing. Not only that, but the rooms were extremely warm (as it is summer) and when we asked to move to another room, a smaller one, so that it wouldn’t be as hot, we were told we would get 25€ back and on our last day, we were told it’s 15€ and the lady at the front desk (Frau Muller, or something similar) responded in an extremely rude, angry, and inappropriate manner.Other issues included the breakfast, which was low quality and tasted like it used old oil, plus the ladies who worked in the kitchen did not clean anything up and just chatted in the corner. Also, one of the workers there, as we were leaving our room, told us it is time to check out and as we were carrying all of our heavy stuff and arms were full, she went into the elevator with us and took the elevator to the 4th floor instead of professionally letting us go to the bottom floor to check out.Lastly, and perhaps most importantly, the elevator did not fully reach the floor multiple times, causing me to trip because it would be slightly missing the floor. The man we saw there was the nicest guy, so we are thankful for him and how professional he was.We plan to visit Elmshorn again, but we will not stay here nor recommend to stay here, especially for the ridiculous price.

Nice boutique hotel, the rooms are clean, they have a TV and Wi-Fi. The optional breakfasts are worth it, don’t hesitate to ask it, with your room together.

This summer, as we were biking along the Elbe River, we visited Elmshorn and stayed at the SportLife Hotel. Before arrival, we searched the internet for reviews and found some, that made us a bit concerned, but fortunately almost nothing of the stuff written turned out to be true. The hotel's location is quite central in Elmshorn, but it was definitely not too loud during the night - just the opposite, we had some pretty nice sleep. Well, this could also be, because we had just finished a 65 km tour, but also the comfort of the hotel has something to do with it. Since the tour was a couple of months ago, I can't remember much, but I will try to point out some of the details. We arrived quite late and the hotel policy is that you have to call, if you are to arrive later than 18 o'clock. We did that and the room was kept for us - the lady on the phone was quite friendly. When we arrived, we didn't want to leave the bikes outside, so we asked for a place to lock them inside and this was provided (although the hotel was quite full already). This was not included in the price, so extra point for service. We had biked all day and were pretty hungry, so an existentially important issue was to get dinner. This turned out to be quite easy, because the restaurant's kitchen was open until 22.00 o'clock. So basically, we ordered quite impressive amount of food, and it was prepared very quickly and was very delicious. The waiter, an Italian fellow, was very friendly and professional and we had a good chat - this made us feel quite comfortable at the hotel - extra point for the restaurant. Furthermore, since we ordered more than we could eat, we were allowed to take the rest with us and finish it in the room later. This gives another extra point for food and service – we realized that at around midnight, when we were totally grateful for the food taken with and finished it all.The room had a small table, nice flat screen TV and cable, nice bathroom and comfortable beds - actually real beds and not from those only with huge matrices that move all around. In the morning the hotel offers breakfast. This has to be paid extra, but this is a good thing, cause this way you can preserve some certain flexibility and decide to eat someplace else. We wouldn't do that though, because the breakfast offered was excellent - you could even squeeze your fresh orange juice by yourself. Before departure, we took a brief look at the badminton facilities, since we are passionate badminton players. There were like four badminton courts available and only one couple was playing. The courts had to be paid per person per hour. After brief calculation, it turned out to be just as expensive as if we were to play someplace else. If those prices are reconsidered, we are quite likely to go to this hotel even only for a "badminton weekend".To summarize, if we are on our way in this region again, the Elmshorn SportLife Hotel will definitely be considered an option.

Very bad hotel. The service is horribel, very rude employes. The food has no taste at all, or very dry. The cleaning was also horribel, Thea did not change the bed sheets. The only positive thing was a very nice man in the bar.
