From the outside, the City Hotel Antik is not the most impressive Hotel in Aalen. But having stayed in several hotels in the city of Aalen, it is probably my favorite. Inside, there is a wonderful, rich, old world, old hotel charm that is seldom felt in the modern world. But like the modern world, there is an exhilarating freshness about the place. The interior decorations are new, nothing is frayed or worn. You really would be hard pressed to find a more convenient hotel to the downtown area. Restaurants abound within easy walking distance. The "lobby" was scattered. Starting at the lobby desk, it continued quite a way down a hall, but was complete with comfortable furniture, pleasing decorations, and a quiet, almost private, atmosphere. Really nice. The staff is friendly. The kind of friendly that seems personal, as if they really enjoy working with people, and are not just putting in time for a paycheck. And this applies to all of the staff that we met. Really nice folks who seem to genuinely welcome you to their place. The room was big, the bed was comfortable, the pillows were too soft for reading in bed, although they were fine for sleeping. If you put the decorative pillow behind the big, soft pillow, the result is comfortable even for reading.Breakfast, included with the booking, was fairly typical for a German breakfast. Sliced meat and cheese, a variety of great breads, fruit, yogurt, etc. Parking on the premises was sparse, but free. The breakfast area was interesting with a variety of table settings. Stools at a bar-height table, standard tables and chairs, couches with coffee tables, some darkish private areas, although most areas were in areas well lit by window light. Everything combined to make breakfast a most enjoyable event. All in all, it was a great place to spend an evening and the following morning. I wish we had had more days there.

Pretty disappointed... even though it looked really nice on some photos my room was pretty disappointing - pillow uncomfortable, no spare blankets, bathroom small, clogged drain. The location is pretty good, but on the other hand one can find much better hotels in near by for same or even better price.

It's okay. The room was big enough but the carpet floor was not kind to my allergies. The bed was way too soft. The pillow was too big.The bathroom was good.Internet connection was also good.I'd not recommend breakfast here unless it is already included. Nothing special. The best part is that the hotel is close to the city center of Aalen.

Great service and a tasty breakfast with lots of choises: fresh fruits and berries, yogurt, eggs, bacon.. . We booked a newly renovated room with air conditioning and it was wonderful! The bed was perfect and the room was quiet, we slept like babies. Can definitely recommend this hotel!

Very beautiful hotel near the center of Aalen. The room was comfortable and tidy, the bathroom was not particularly modern or big, but it was functional. The breakfast was very rich, they had all sorts of cheese, ham, bread, cerial and eggs (the eggs were not at the buffet, but we got asked if we wanted some). The lobby had a very cool old-fashoned style. The staff was very friendly and helpful. We really liked it there.

Our room had hair and dirt on the pillows. When we asked for a different room, we were given another room with hair and dirt on the pillows AND towels. There was no one on-site to deal with this. I would not recommend staying here

Location is convenient to the city, but entrance to the hotel is tricky. Watch for green signs that will point you to where to park. Staff was friendly and spoke English. Wifi was available and worked. Restaurant and beer garden on-site with grocery store within walking distance.

Nice and convenient hotel close to Aalen’s historic center and easy to get to. We had large, well fitted-out and quiet room for a very reasonable price. The manager Stephan was super friendly and helpful. 😀 Definitely recommend this one!

Clean rooms, friendly staff and breakfast is ok. Not expensive. There are some places to eat and drink nearby. Has parking place. I would definitely stay again.

I am pleased about all aspects of my stay in City Hotel Antik: booking, room, WiFi, breakfast. The hotel is conveniently located near Aalen and its various restaurants. In the evening I parked the car in the council office carpark at the back. There was a can with hot water and tea bags for making herbal tea at the entrance in the evening, which was a nice touch.Recommended.
