A good spot to lay your head, very close to the station. Not a lot of amenities. The shower worked, and after a long day of travel, that was important to me!

Hotel Rieker is centrally located and somewhat next to the Hauptbahnhof (a 8 minute walk with luggage), which is my principal reason for staying at the hotel. The hotel is also a 10 to 15 minute walk to the main sights in Stuttgart. However, if one doesn’t need to be that centrally located to catch a train the next morning, then you may be better off staying elsewhere. For the rooms that remain unrenovated (the website suggests some rooms have more modern decor), the hotel decor seems to date back to the 80s or earlier, with reddish carpets lining the floor and brown wooden furniture. There is no air-conditioning, so it can get pretty warm in the room in the height of summer. If you lucked out on a room by the main road, then you will need to decide whether to open the window for air and deal with the noise, or keep the windows shut, be in blissful but warm silence. The hotel kindly provides ear plugs but not a fan - infer from this what you will. The hotel room is basic and clean, with clean linen, sheets and towels. The bed is comfortable. The ensuite toilet and shower are also very clean, though all dispensers have the same blue soap. The hotel offers “toiletries” at the reception. Interestingly there were four dusty hangers in the cupboard ...For those who like to make a morning coffee, there is no kettle in the room. So you would either need to get hot water from a kettle on the ground floor (a staff helped me with that on the first night) or borrow a kettle from the reception (a staff handed this to me on the second night). The hotel staff are generally polite and helpful. The hotel is also a few minutes’ walk from a supermarket (Rewe) so one can pick up groceries from there. Do note the room has no refrigerator so keeping a cool drink in the room (a plus during summer) is not possible. At this price point (€314 for two nights), one needs to manage expectations and weigh up the pros/cons for staying here.

If I could give it a -1 I would. The hotel staff at checking was amazing, but that is it.The room was disgusting and breakfast was even worst.Breakfast was 14 euro per person and not worth at all, old croissant that we're hard, cheese and pickle that have been left overnight it seemed. There was a egg caserole that I was scared to even open.If you open the window, you will have the Police, Firemen and ambulance going on with sirens all day and night, since you are close to all of them.

The front desk staff were helpful and friendly, our room was available so they let us in early 😁. Very convenient to the Stuttgart HBF, a wonderful variety of restaurants and bars within 5 minute walk. Perfectly clean room! The room is small and the bathroom was "sailboat size". Two larger people would have great difficulty moving around the room at the same time. But, really, you are here to sleep and shower - there is space for that! There is an elevator. The room had ample outlets for charging electronics. No refrigerator or room safe. No air-conditioning but there is a fan you can move around the room. Soundproofing is great - double, double glazed windows, didn't hear a sound from outside!

Overall I had a very nice stay there. It’s very close to the Central station which makes transport easy, plus it’s not too far from the commercial area. Breakfast could have greater variety, but it’s what you would expect as a typical German breakfast.

I do not trust this hotel; we had to cancel our reservation due to an ER visit that was very well documented. Initially we were refunded, and then this place went back on that and had our credit card company rebill us. Very slimey way of doing business, this place can kick rocks. Book at your own risk, they take their no refund policy seriously!
