A really cozy hiking hut with different types of beer. There are several possible ways up. Everything from difficult to easy is included

The hut is located on the "top" of the BIG boot. The outdoor seating area has been lovingly decorated. There are small dishes such as white sausages with pretzels, sausage salad with bread, cakes, etc. There were two of us and we felt comfortable. Always my pleasure.

The hut is very nice. It can be reached on foot or by mountain bike. The tenants are friendly. There is inexpensive, typical hut food. Open on Sundays.

A nice mix between rustic and upscale on the menu evenings. Unfortunately the hut is not open on all working days. Otherwise it is very cozy and "naturally" quiet. From the boot you have a beautiful view of the vast countryside. Worth a visit, it remains to be seen how it will be under new management (the hut will move to Niederwürzbach on October 1st, 2018).

Totally comfortable, accessible via various - shorter or longer - walking paths. Small menu on Sunday. Right next to the big boot with a great view...

The Heinrich Kohl Hütte or the Stiefeler Hütte is very close to the Stiefelfelsen. It was built in 1912 as a hunting lodge and was later taken over and managed by the Palatinate Forest Association.Today you can stop and have a snack there. The selection of food is very small. The prices are tough. But the sausage salad was delicious. And the white sausages were delicious too.A nice rest stop on the way to Boots!

I was here for the first time on Wednesday afternoon. I was surprised at the selection of drinks available here :-) You rarely have that at hiking huts. On Sundays there are also little things to eat. It is currently open on Wednesdays and Sundays.

You have to be good on foot to get there. But it's worth it. The hut has recently been open again on Sundays. I hope it stays that way.
