Nice hotel at the entrance to Lachagrund. Well fortified, you can start beautiful hikes from here. The food is plentiful and very tasty. There are sufficient parking spaces available.

4-star rating for the Aktivhotel Inselsberg in Bad TabarzOverall, I really liked the Aktivhotel Inselsberg, especially the beautiful location right next to the forest, which is really quiet, and the top modern rooms. I was particularly impressed by the bathroom with a Japanese toilet, something I haven't experienced in Germany before and think is really great. The staff was also very nice and friendly.A small downside was the control panel for an air conditioning system in the room, although there was actually no air conditioning system. Nevertheless, I would give 5 stars for the beautiful room.I was less enthusiastic about breakfast. There were only two types of jam, and for muesli fans the offering was rather poor. Although there were several breakfast cereals, there were no additional products such as nuts or coconut flakes, apart from chia seeds. The honey was also only available in plastic containers, which is not very environmentally friendly.Another drawback was the limited selection of chopped fruit for the muesli and the lack of yogurt or other products to enrich the muesli. There was just a small milk jug on a counter, which was often empty. Anyone who doesn't like cow's milk had a problem here. The waitress was constantly on the move between the breakfast room and reception, so refilling the milk jug took about 10 minutes. During this time I had already finished my muesli, which I had to mix with Earl Gray tea and cream - which doesn't really match the quality of the rest of the hotel.The delicious rolls at breakfast should be positively highlighted. If the hotel offered milk alternatives, fixed the cereal problem, and provided a larger selection of jams, the breakfast would be just as impressive as the rest of the hotel.Despite minor deficiencies, I would recommend the Aktivhotel Inselsberg and would happily give it 4 stars.

We would love to come back. We were here with our little dog. We and our fur nose received a very warm welcome.It was very nice. And can only recommend it. No matter whether it is a room or a sauna and restaurant. It was just beautiful.Many thanks also to the whole team. We would especially like to thank Ms. Hoche and the chef for the excellent service and the very good cuisine. There's really a lot of love in it. You can tell.👍👍

We stayed here for two days and overall it was a wonderful stay. The room is very modern and leaves nothing to be desired. The nights were extremely quiet. The hiking opportunities from here are terrific. Afterwards we used the great sauna. The restaurant offers very good cuisine.Absolute recommendation from us.
