It took half an hour to get two glasses of beer (bottles) and a glass of water. Yes, we weren't the only guests, but the restaurant was only about half full. It took an hour to get food. Staff was unapologetic. …

We were there for a family celebration in September 2024.The best thing in advance is the location on the lake.The service was bad and unfriendly.The rooms and their furnishings do not meet the quality of construction worker accommodation.Definitely not again. 👎

I attended a birthday party there. I don't know the rooms. The house is older and it shows. But everything was very clean and tidy. The food was very decent. The view of the lake was impressive.

Breakfast is ok, a bit bland. Not so good for a holiday with children, dinner very expensive. Guest toilets in the restaurant downstairs were only opened after repeated requests from several guests, soap had been empty for days and had not been refilled (see video), it also stank of urine and there were dead flies everywhere (see other video). There was also no toilet paper (in the restaurant's guest toilets). Direct access to the lake is nice. The transportation service listed on the website is no longer offered due to a lack of staff. When we asked, we were promised a SUP (stand-up paddling), which we never received. Afterwards we were told it had already been loaned to someone else.- no WiFi, no network- sinfully expensive drinks- no room service while you live there- few sockets (2 or less)- No lighting at the lake entrance, difficult to play cards there after sunset- Sauna permanently closed- Restaurant smells musty- Heaters are off (maybe because it's summer?)- no clothesline or the like to hang up bath towels- two keys for a double room would be good, so everyone has a key

The hotel is located directly on Schermützelsee with lake access and has a very nice and well-kept private swimming area. The lake has turquoise water and is a dream. The hotel currently has a somewhat limited service due to staff shortages. Nevertheless, we were looked after very attentively and the food was delicious.

My wife and I stayed at the Hotel Johst am See for 4 nights. Everyone put a lot of effort into making it as nice as possible for us. Although there weren't that many guests after the winter, the breakfast buffet was always very well served and all of our menu wishes for dinner were fulfilled. Great location, very quiet, great for hiking and the sauna right down by the lake. Thank you for the wonderful days!

I stayed in this hotel for 2 days over Easter and have to say that I was pleasantly surprised. This hotel doesn't deserve the negative reviews, not after the tough Corona times! The location of the hotel is remote, right on the lake and is ideal for those looking for peace and quiet! It's no longer the newest building on the outside, but the inside is well maintained, both in the rooms and in the restaurants. The staff is very friendly and the service is therefore simply great!All in all, I can warmly recommend this hotel.

Beautiful complex with its own lake access. This consists of a lawn that extends directly to the water.The hotel is not the newest but is well maintained. The food is absolutely fantastic, I've been there for several larger celebrations now. It's always a pleasure. The staff is very friendly and helpful.

We have now been guests at Johst am See 4 times with our extended family. The rooms are totally clean with their own bathroom, the beds are also very good. And the food is awesome! Absolutely recommended for family celebrations with an overnight stay! The house has its own lawn with access to the lake, which is also suitable for small children.
