My husband and I stayed at the Kellhofhotel for three days. The room was very clean, the service was great, and the breakfast too. Sufficient and tasty. Nothing was left to be desired. The landlord can give good tips about where to eat or what to do. Very happy again.Thank you

Family hotel on western Lake Constance - a real originalFor our couples holiday, which we wanted to use primarily to switch off and slow down, we decided on the Kellhof in Gaienhofen. Gaienhofen is a bit out of the way behind the larger town of Singen (20km away) and Radolfzell (12km away). The Kellhof is located directly on Lake Constance (less than 2 minutes from the water) and is therefore perfect for relaxation in nature. There is a beer garden by the lake where we ate delicious pizza!Check-in in the evening was quick, friendly and uncomplicated. Mario the hotel owner greeted us personally and wanted to make it clear that he would give us lots of tips for excursions the next morning. His direct, somewhat brisk but friendly manner took us a little by surprise. However, after a short period of getting used to it, he turned out to be a real original with cheeky charm and a touch of his own humor that often made us laugh.He never means anything bad, he just has his special way and shows real hospitality and personality!The hotel's furnishings are stylistically a bit older, but are kept in top condition and perfectly clean and well-maintained from the reception to the last corner in the room! The room was spacious and offered plenty of storage space. The small fridge in the room was very practical. The view of Lake Constance is beautiful and it is very quiet. Only the WiFi reception wasn't entirely satisfactory because the router was too far away from our room and the signal was only weak. Also, the speed is a bit slow. You can retrofit here.The breakfast had a small selection, but was always fresh, regional and tasty. Rolls from the bakery and sausage and cheese definitely not from the supermarket! If something ran out, supplies were quickly provided upon request. For example, the incredibly delicious scrambled eggs!Although it is a bit isolated, you can still experience a lot of beautiful things here. Hiking and swimming right outside the door. A few meters away the bus takes you to Radolfzell. There are 4 restaurants directly in town, but no shops. However, a stand directly opposite the hotel sells fruit, vegetables and rolls until late in the evening, so you can still get something on hand if you get hungry.All in all, the Kellhof is definitely worth recommending if you just want to switch off. Nice conversations included and there was also a glass of jam to say goodbye. We would definitely like to come back because this stay was a wonderful mix of relaxation and hospitality!

The Kellhof is located in Hemmenhofen near Gaienhofen - not far from Konstanz and Radolfszell; directly on the main street of the town and yet at the same time in a quiet, relaxed location.The rooms are generously sized; larger than usual, comparable hotel rooms. Both the actual room and the bathroom offer plenty of space to move around next to the furniture. Ground sports are no problem and two people can walk past each other anywhere without being squashed.The living and sleeping area is equipped with a bed, armchair, desk, cupboard and chest of drawers and is furnished in a pleasantly rustic style. The view from the rooms simultaneously offers a view of the town, mountains and forests and in the summer months you can often see fireworks explosions shot from the lake at night.Operator Mario welcomes you in a uniquely direct way, which is sometimes unusual but always warm.Breakfast ranges from rolls, yoghurt and muesli to scrambled eggs with or without bacon and special requests are happily prepared fresh in the kitchen. Juice, various teas and coffee specialties round off the buffet.The Kellhof is a highly recommended address for anyone who wants to set up camp for a few days (or more) away from the tourist destinations on Lake Constance - you will probably have a motor.
