Excellent location near an old city gate. Drive through the gate and you arrive a few meters ahead. Excellent value. Modest German well maintained hotel with an excellent breakfast. Some parking is available behind the building otherwise there is public parking very close by. Easy to walk any where in town. Check-in is an automated system that works well. Key is dropped off to the staff when leaving. Vending machines are located in the same area which is convenient for snacks and drinks.The Hotel is very close to many popular cafes and restaurants. If you see a restaurant you are interested in trying (in the evening) stop in and make a reservation otherwise the restaurantscan fill up. We felt like the hotel was a very good value in a great location.

First off, the room had no AC and was insanely warm, so warm in fact that we had to find another last minute hotel in the area as we were there during a heatwave. The room was clean but the staff weren’t very helpful, especially when we tried to explain the situation they weren’t really interested in trying to help us. Great location but don’t go in the summer.

The hotel could use a facelift but overall it’s not too bad. The rooms are super clean and the location is very ideal, just inside the city walls. The breakfast was ok, the lady working there made me some eggs on the fly, which was nice.

First off, the location was great so much is just so close. My room was messy though. There was glass shards under the bed, and stains on the chair. The room felt like it wasn’t cleaned properly. Everything else was great!

Hi we just stayed and had a very pleasant experience with the hotel. Check in easy and straightforward.room very clean. Good and rich breakfast.The Host showed personal interest and made fright eggs for us. We liked it.

Great location just by the Roman wall. Really easy check in. Room was clean and comfortable with plenty of space. We really enjoyed the breakfast which was a continental style but they offered eggs as well. Definitely a good choice to explore the wonderful town of Rothenberg.

A small well located very near one of the city Gates. Access to the hotel is automated with a key system which makes sense given covid and it's a very small hotel they had to do away with the front desk to stay in business would highly recommend staying there the breakfast was great the owner was a parking is available at the same price as you would pay for street parking in Rothenberg

This was a delightful stay. The room and the bed were very clean and comfortable. I didn’t love the self check in but the owner was available on the phone to answer our questions. The breakfast spread was outstanding. I highly recommend staying at The Hocher Hotel when you visit Rothenburg.

All around great experience. The room was clean,quiet and comfortable. The owner was very friendly and helpful. Breakfast was excellent, they cooked eggs to order. Great location. All and all 5 star rating!😊

veryx1000 bad serviceFor those who are considering this hotel , please choose the others… It was a very bad experience… 2/12/2023-3/12/2023 There was heavy snowfall in Munich, most of the flights & train & bus cancelled due to the weather… 3/12/2023 we bought a train ticket from Munich to Rothenburg, unfortunately the train was canceled again !!! So we were stuck in Munich. When we realised we wouldn’t be able to get to Rothenburg, we informed the hotel in the morning to cancel our reservation all trains were canceled due to the weather conditions . But hotel doesn’t offer partial refunds, let alone full refunds. We explained to the hotel (a guy) that our cancellation was not for personal reason , but because of irresistible factors! But they still doesn’t understand us⋯ We’re already worried about the next trip due to the canceled train, and we still can’t get the understanding from the hotel… I really don’t recommend everyone to go to such an inconsiderate hotel to its guest!! This is very bad experience!!
