We are very happy with this hotel choice:|- friendly stuff going above and beyond (mailed postcards for us, called taxi, brewed me a tea at 9pm, always smiling and ready to help)|- sauna and pool are amazing and very private. …

Can't beat the location. There's a pool in the basement and a sauna but the sauna is only tuned on after 7pm. No A/C in the rooms so fully opening the windows is a must at night -- due to this, recommend getting a room at the back of the hotel because there are noisy people at night from the bar next door who are out late drinking, laughing, talking outside the front of the hotel.

We had a very different experience than the other reviews. Didn’t interact with staff as the front desk closes I believe at 3 pm. They did send clear instructions on the checking in system. Seemed overrated for the cost. …

The staff are friendly and approachable, and the interior is done up quite well considering how old the building is. Good location within the old town area, but do note it is on a hill with cobbly streets so if you have large luggages it may be a challenge.

I moved to this area of Nuremberg recently and booked a room here for 2 nights for my mother. The hotel staff was charming when we checked in and the building and room were particularly cute. The bed was a little hard for my mother, but mostly her stay was pleasant. This morning she had an early train, so I booked her a cab at 7am. I met her in the lobby at 6:50 and learned that checkout is at 7. If she left earlier, they would just charge the card on file. The cab arrived at the same time as the checkout staff. I went out to ask the cab to wait a minute while we checked out then went inside, where I heard my mom was being charged 255€, which was 40€ higher than what I was quoted. I had the email from the booking (I booked directly thru the booking service on the hotel's website), and showed the gentleman. He then spent 5 minutes wandering back and forth muttering to himself that he couldn't find the booking in either the computer or on paper.I asked him if we could just pay and go because we had a taxi waiting. I probably sounded quite annoyed at this point. He asked me, why are you so unfriendly? I don't know about you, but being asked that question from someone who is wasting my time makes me unfriendly. He kept on repeating that and stopped looking for the booking to lecture me on being unfriendly and how I cannot expect a quick checkout since they don't arrive until 7am anyway. He eventually charged us the correct price without finding the correct booking at 7:10.He's right that an early train is not his problem. But inconvenienced guests because they are disorganized are his problem, and I would have appreciated sympathy rather than defensiveness.I'm sure it was written somewhere, but it was not mentioned at check-in that the counter doesn't open until 7. To me a 6:45 check out is not particularly early. But also, if he hadn't found the booking originally, where did he get the numbers to charge her with at the beginning of the process? There was never an apology for charging the wrong price.

Generally ok. There was some confusion about laundry service - we thought there would be an on-site laundromat and instead we had to pay 30 euros to get laundry done by their service. But I am not sure if the confusion was our fault or theirs.

This was a cute and charming hotel and overall just an okay stay.Rooms: Very clean rooms and had the amenities we needed. There was ample space for all our bags. The space was inviting and rooms were quiet. The cute Haribo gummy bears on the pillows were fun. The beds however, I don't know how you could call these beds. They felt like bouncy box springs that were 20 years old. That sounds harsh but it kind of ruined our stay here and would be hard to recommend this to anyone because of the lack of comfort and sleep. It's something you would expect at a very very cheap hotel or hostel.Service: Great service with our hotel staff interactions. Very kind, friendly, and eager to help provide directions and suggestions for our visit. You need to be aware this hotel does not have 24 hr reception service but that wasn't a problem for me.Location: 5/5. Located within walking distance in the old town, Nuremberg Christkindlesmarkt, lots of shopping etc. The parking garage is not hotel operated and is off site. The walk was about 3-5 minutes which wasn't a big deal at all. They did have a breakfast that we opted not to participate but it was available. They pool was nice however a bit on the cold side during December. It was disappointing that it was not heated.I'm glad that we stayed here because of the location. However it's really difficult to recommend based on the mattresses. Lost a good amount of sleep because of them. Otherwise really the hotel was quite perfect for our needs.

Very nice, quaint, clean, comfortable hotel inside the old city of Nuernberg. Great location for walking the old city, Market square, castle and shopping area.  …
