We had dinner at the restaurant because it caught our attention by its amazing design. We weren't disappointed by the food either, we had a very german meal: sausages and apple strudel for dessert. We also asked to change the sauerkraut to just a normal fresh salad and there was no problem with that, the waiter was very nice.

[Hotel review] I was surprised by this hotel! It has a quirky format with a sink inside the room and the bathroom being on the other side of the corridor, but the design was a great topic of conversation between my friends so I would say it was great to experience that hahahLocation is unbeatable, right next to the river and where all the authentic German places are :) the restaurant below the hotel has a very design too. It is also just ~8 min from the cathedral.IT HAS AIR CONDITIONER!!! Best thing :PThe room and the bathroom were spotless, everything very clean and organized. The hotel reception staff was very friendly and attentive, I was able to leave my luggage there and while I was concerned because they just told me to leave it in the middle of the restaurant tables (second floor), they took care of it and it was there when I came back :)But to be honest I grabbed my luggage and left and I don't think anyone saw me taking it, so maybe if someone else tried to take it they would have been able to. Hopefully it didn't happen so I leave 5 stars, but it would be good if the hotel could find a place to keep luggage safer to avoid a situation where someone just steals the suitcase and leaves haha

The rooms were not only comfortable but also elegantly decorated, offering a perfect blend of luxury and coziness. The highlight of my stay was undoubtedly the dining experience. The restaurant offers a diverse menu featuring both local and international cuisine, all prepared with the freshest ingredients. Every dish was a delight to the senses, beautifully presented and bursting with flavor. The attention to detail and the commitment to providing an exceptional guest experience were evident in every aspect of my stay. Whether you’re looking for a relaxing getaway or a culinary adventure, Löwenbrau is the perfect choice. I highly recommend it and look forward to returning soon.

I don't know about hotel itself, we were walking around and saw that they are serving mussels . And that was their specialty... Hmmm ok! The price was 21 euros for the same amount of mussels as everywhere. As a fish lover, of course I was wondering to taste it. Let's try...Ohhh how disappointed I was. ((( Almost every mussel I took, contained sand.. 😢 They also had 0 taste to them.I wouldn't recommend this place to eat mussels , about other food I can't say anything.

I had the worst service ever at this establishment. A waiter, who initially refused to give his name but was later identified as Alam, exhibited clear homophobia towards my friends. He instructed them to 'behave' and failed to serve them properly. It’s disappointing that such behavior is still tolerated in 2024. This individual is damaging the reputation and image of the place, and I hope the owner is made aware of these issues, as it could negatively impact their business. I do appreciate the efforts of the other staff members who tried to improve the situation

To start, I never write reviews but this place made me and my friend extremely uncomfortable. Me and a friend were just looking for somewhere to stop off for some drinks and soak in the German culture when we came across this place just down the road from where we were staying. Almost immediately a waiter comes out and ushers us in after telling him we had reservations soon, we went along nonetheless. The aesthetic was gorgeous but the waiters were so pushy and made us feel on edge. We initially ordered a large beer and a cocktail which they were happy with. Then proceeded to order another two small beers, to which they responded in attempt to make us buy the larger ones. We then asked for the bill after we’d finished and they came over with a receipt already printed with ‘NO BILL’ on the top. We were both very confused and asked him for an explanation but he just kept saying ‘No bill, receipt’ and smiling really big. Eventually we just concluded that maybe he’d covered it (purely because other places had done that for us on our trip 🤣) so we began thanking him and trying to leave. But he wouldn’t move! It was like we were trapped so eventually after making us feel so intensely uncomfortable I just said ‘do you want my card?’ then he rolled his eyes in frustration and put the reader on the table, then barely said goodbye after giving us smiles the whole time. Then his buddy followed us out the door and we just ran to our booking. Never going back after that humiliation 🫣.

This December I visit köln for the Christmas with my wife and her sister with her husband. We went for two days and we wanted to eat a typical German meal like schnitzel. We searched for a while when we saw this typical German building with the restaurant löwenbräu köln. The interior looked very German and the first look at the menu did decided us to good eat here.It was very busy but after 20 minutes waiting we could go to our table. When we looked at the menu we were supplied to see that a normal carpaccio was 18 euro (online is this 14.90) . This is for Germany very expansive. This did us decide to order a bread with butter as appetizer. But they did not have this kind of appetizer. We decided to order just a main course. We ordered the schnitzel with fries and two beers, a red wine and a Riesling wine. Both the wines were more then 8 euro for each glass. Again for German standards expensive. The red wine was also not nice. It was poor quality. We received the schnitzel and we were a bit shocked by the size. I eat a lot in Germany and the size was small. Also the quantity of fries was not much. We ordered two new portions. We needed to wait on these fries until our schnitzel was already gone. These portions were also not fried good.Beside this the bottle of water was already opened which did us think it was refilled. When I needed to pay the waiter was surprised that we did not gave him a tip. I need to tell him 3 times I wasn't going to give him a tip.Bill 155 euro without tip for 4 persons.Overall impression is expensive, poor quality, small potions and not a kind staff.

I absolutely adored my time at this enchanting hotel! The rooms, so warm and snug, were impeccably maintained, exuding a delightful, traditional inn ambiance. The dining space was adorned with interesting artifacts, contributing to the distinct atmosphere. The scenery was awe-inspiring, and the morning meal was a delightful spread offering a variety of choices. It truly felt like a tranquil oasis in the heart of the city. I truly wish I could have prolonged my visit. The attentive hotel staff ensured swift and attentive service, and the fusion of German and Italian cuisines was delectable. The captivating ambiance, coupled with the view of the Rhine river, was an added bonus! The well-maintained rooms catered to all needs, and the opportunity to relish Bavarian and Kölsch beers was a delightful indulgence. A definite recommendation for those eager to explore the charms of the Old Town!
