We booked this hotel whilst walking the Westweg. Be aware that this is still 30 minutes from Alexanderschanze and Google Maps will guide you along the B28 motorway where there are no walkways. There are alternative paths available if you look at the map. Before arrival we were notified the cook was ill and that dinner was not available at the hotel. The hosts offered us plenty of alternatives which was very thoughtful.Upon arrival, a letter with our name was sticking out of the mailbox describing all useful and necessary information as well as the location of the key.The room was small but clean and tidy.Breakfast consisted of a yoghurt with muesli, a bread basket, a platter of various cheeses and cold cuts, some juice and coffee. When it was time to depart, we were offered anti-mosquito spray and sunscreen. Very thoughtful.

There was no water/coffee/thee in the room. Internet quality was not good. Breakfast was a bit poor and they charged for very small takeaway sandwich made from breakfast bread and cheese

A couple of years ago, in mid - December, my wife Ann and I decided to visit Germany’s Black Forest region for a few days, staying at the Kniebishöhe Hotel Restaurant, in the little village of Kniebis, 11km up the road from Freudenstadt. …
