We spent two nights in a double room located in the former school building where our double bed was actually two single beds next to each other, just slightly elevated from the ground, with mattresses way too soft.Room and bathroom were sure spacious, large windows overlooked green fields, thus balancing the interiora decorated with gloomy and most plain furniture and faint ceiling lights. The carpeting covering the whole floor is old and dirty with unpleasant smell, especially considering that dogs any size are admitted into the rooms. The breakfast buffet has plenty of choices and is of good quality with very nice touches of fresh flowers on each table.Yet breakfast room has low ceilings and is too small for the guests of a total of 30 rooms plus some caravans, so the noise and confusion at the buffet and around the too ma y tables is most unpleasant and disturbing. We recommend reserving a room on any platform online as we booked directly but we found out we paid more than if we had booked on Booking.Great quality of food at their restaurant, too, in a beautiful setting facing the main square of the village and an outdoor terrace with forest view and most friendly, cute ducks visiting.Just a little discussion when they tried to convince us the smoked speck they brought us was the Spanish hamon Serrano we asked for but then once the chef was called, he came over apologizing for the mistake and sent the right item.Unfortunately guest tables had place mats in dark brown WOOL covered with crumbles and hairs of previous customers, really disgusting. In conclusion we enjoyed the ancient buildings with their history, the location in a peaceful village among forests, the dedicated chefs and the nice service staff. Managers and their job are instead the reason why we won’t be back and do not recommend a stay.

I spent one night and all I can do is rave about this hotel. All the staff, restaurant and all services go out of their way to make sure you are comfortable. The reception, Vanessa, went above and beyond to help me out. I highly recommend this hotel for their hospitality as well as the food they have to offer.

This is a lovely place to visit.in winter the location and restaurant is warm and cosy. In winter, they have a big outdoor area. One can stay here and have business meetings but we have only visited here for the restaurant. The staff is really friendly and kind. The food is great. They have a seasonal menu and also a regular menu. We have tried both their seasonal and the normal menus and nothing bad to say, only praises. It is a drive away from Kleve... but it is worth the drive!! I have recommended all my friends there and they too have only praises.

If you want somewhere that is peaceful and quiet... you can't go wrong here. In the middle of a small village, surrounded by atypical German community and countryside, perfect! Hotel has excellent facilities and my room was huge. …

17/6/23: we went for dinner, very nice place in the middle of nowhere but close to Goch and Kleve. Nice card, good service and a very nice terrace, we loved it and the food was very good, not typical German.

If you are looking for high standards for a low price, this is the place to go. The restaurant offers food in good quality but also at a fair prize. The surroundings are quiet and de-stressing with the forrest within walking distance.
