The rooms and bathroom stink like a sewer. Breakfast has very few options. The room is very small and claustrophobic. So is the bathroom. The shower stall is small and the shower heads don't work properly. The staff are the only exception and are friendly and helpful. I will not stay here again.

Urrr... Possibly the worst hotel I've ever stayed in. Can't mark it less than 2 stars as it was reasonably clean (by no means spotless mind) and location is convenient. Defo not a holiday destination but a 1 night is bareable 😖 Unfortunately there were NO towels, in my room, the general upkeep of the room was poor (pretty broken chair), skirting board missing, lop-sided lamp. 1 of the pictures was upside down so made this right - you're welcome. I stayed in room 6. Apparently I was lucky as the hotel was over booked. Unfortunately this also meant I had the 'joy' of the smell of smoke as it was near to their back door. Walls in the hotel really were thin as you can here everything happening all around you.

I stayed in this hotel with a friend three nights and we really loved the stay. It was good enough for its price, simple but clean, a little bit oldfashioned or even "retro" to us. Housekeeping made our room nicely clean every day and the service in reception was very polite and kind even if some of the workers wasnt so good in english they still were helpful. The location of hotel is very good because it has many good connections with public transport and possible to walk to old town. Nice bakeries and cafes also on the street and a mall very near. Definately recommend to stay if you look a modest simple place with good price.

A dirty rundown place that's been under renovation over the past decade. Friendly staff and close to shops and public transport. All other ways to describe it tend to err on the slim side of the vocabulary: narrow hallway, tiny room, thin walls, minimalist linen, austere interior, no facilities.

As an expat with a "questionable" level of German watching movies in German only is still hard. It's unfortunately very hard to find well located cinemas that play OV or Omu movies in Düsseldorf. But this cute little theatre is pretty good for that. The staff is super nice. It's only 2 rooms but what ever? Just check on online what movies are playing before going because it changes every day.

It is a very nice alternative cinema where you can watch old films or films from film festivals, for example. There are discounts for students! Very recommended.

If you would like to feel the true nature of watching a movie in an old fashion, somewhat nostalgic atmosphere, then Metropol is the right choice.
