I booked two nights in Villa Achenbach and found the hotel clean and comfortable. It is located on a leafy suburban street lined with old villas, a peaceful retreat with it's own garden. It's a short hop in/out of town by tram or bus. …

While the common areas are charming, be warned the hotel does/did not offer its buffet breakfast on Monday mornings (rather a more basic pre-ordered option), which is not advertised on their website or Booking. Also, some rooms are a bit musty (my first room was musty but my room the next night was fresh). Service was mixed, but the young man who was on evening duty was especially helpful. The potential is there but the hotel needs improvement to match its positioning and price point.

This is a quiet hotel in an upmarket residential area. It has the feel of a small country house. It is very well maintained, the staff are friendly, informative and multilingual. The room was spacious and clean and well serviced every day. An excellent hotel deserving its rating.

Lured by the positive reviews, I stayed at the Hotel Villa Achenbach for five nights. The hotel fell far short of meeting minimal expectations. You may be well advised to consider another alternative for your stay in Dusseldorf. …

This is such a gem. A beautifully restored 100 year old residence. The rooms are delightful. Amazing facilities, lovely decor, spotlessly clean. I can’t say enough good things about it! The staff are very helpful and kind. …

This was a really unique place to stay and I enjoyed every minute of being there. The decor makes it seem like a German castle, and the lawns are meticulously maintained.Christian the receptionist was a fantastic face of the hotel and was super helpful with travel tips and local recommendations. If I’m ever in the area again I’d definitely book at HVA.
