A wonderful group travel destination in the middle of nature. You don't need to travel long distances to find peace here. Great outdoor play area with just the right amount of wilderness within walking distance. Price performance is good, the rooms are traditional, simple but that's exactly what gives it the flair. The additional offers that can be booked on the website are tried and tested and recommended. I've been spending my free time here regularly for 20 years and it's always been good.

A great house close to nature for school trips and youth groups. My children have been there several times and they always say how nice the management is. Food intolerances are always taken into account, as are people who follow a vegetarian diet. The spacious outdoor area is great for running around, which is not possible in many places anymore. The house is surrounded by greenery and there is a Rurtalbahn stop within walking distance.

I've been going here with various groups for years and it's always nice! Everything is clean and perfect for work periods and games. The "Erna" is always particularly well received, a fairly new wooden house with table football and plenty of space for learning and playing. The food is freshly cooked and delicious, there is always something good for vegetarians too. And when the weather is good, it is particularly nice to go for a walk and hike in the forest directly behind the building, especially since you can quickly reach the reservoir. A campfire can also be made. Great for young groups!

Exaggerated scam. We come into the room and immediately notice that the door handle is about to fall off. Then we want to turn on the light but this doesn't work either, not even after pressing the light switch several times. The faucet was very loosely attached to the sink and was also easy to unscrew. In the cupboards the rod was completely loose and was just resting on the fasteners. We had to be careful not to open our window incorrectly otherwise the fire alarm would go off. The lamp above our sink was scratched and cracked and the bed rails were also very loose. The pillows were almost too small to sleep properly on and the mattresses were harder than rock. The walls in our room were also scratched, even though we were told they were newly painted. There was also no soap in the room and washing hands was only possible with ice-cold water or boiling hot water. By the way, the closet doors didn't close either.Let's get to the service.So, the service gave us cutlery etc., but we had to put everything on the tables ourselves and usually get up very early to be able to do that. Otherwise there was no service.The location was also very bad, especially when you have to walk uphill on a rocky dirt road with a load of luggage. It was okay by car, but there were 17 of us there and only some of them could drive cars. Schlagstein is also a village that is quite remote and is very very small, so there is nothing to do anyway. We were really happy to finally go home after the weekend.

We were there for the first time for 3 days with the youth fire department and were thrilled by the hospitality of the home management, Ms. Hensen, and her team! Starting with the smooth planning and communication in advance, through the warm welcome on site, as well as the support throughout the entire stay. As usual, the rooms are equipped with double bunk beds and are very clean, as are the sanitary facilities. It was cooked fresh every day and everyone enjoyed the food. The location and surroundings are idyllic and ideal for children to run around and play.We will recommend it and will definitely come back!

It was very nice here on a school trip for 2 1/2 days with two fourth graders. The food was delicious and plentiful. Special dietary requirements were also addressed very courteously.The rooms are simply and simply furnished, but sufficient.The environment is great and offers the children a lot of freedom.I will definitely book a school trip here again! I - and the children - really liked it!

This is the worst youth hostel I have ever seen. The food is rubbish and there is nothing for small children. The beds are rock hard. The cook smokes all day.

Great country school home. Very well maintained, very clean and very friendly staff. There is enough space for groups in many rooms and there are many beautiful excursion destinations in the region.
