Last weekend we were guests at the Haus Mühlbach restaurant with three people. Unfortunately we hadn't pre-ordered, but that wasn't a problem for the service. Luckily we got a table. The atmosphere was very harmonious, inviting, cozy. We feel welcome from the start. The menu offered a manageable selection of vegetarian options as well as meat options, so there was something for everyone. We decide on the schnitzel with cream sauce and side dishes. The price of €17.90 seemed very steep to me at first, but I am very critical!!! What was served to us was worth it and I was willing to pay more for it. I myself have experience in the catering sector and have to admit that I have eaten the best schnitzel to date without making any compromises. The meat was not plated dead, a decent portion at 200g. Perfectly baked, not fried. The sauce (sensationally good) was served in a separate bowl, the fries were very crispy and didn't taste like old fat. The salad was well dressed with vinegar and oil. Thank you for this lovely evening, keep it up👍P.S. I could write another page just about the homemade ice cream. Definitely try it. ☺️👍👍Thanks

I can only recommend this restaurant. We stumbled in there more or less by chance. We were warmly welcomed and the food was first class!I had a cream schnitzel - I have never eaten such a well-prepared schnitzel as there - everything was homemade and prepared with love 😊I always recommend reserving a table as it is always busy.

We went to the restaurant for dinner in the evening with a group of 10 people. The dishes tasted very good and especially the dessert (homemade ice cream, caramel/salt)!!! Recommended!

On Friday (July 26th) we went hiking in the Eifel. We coordinated the end of the hike with the opening times of Haus Mühlbach. According to the internet it should open at 5:30 p.m., according to the notice it should open at 5 p.m. Unfortunately, it didn't open at all, and there was no notice on the restaurant or in the notice about changed opening times or company holidays. There are no alternative options in the evenings.A pity

Wanted to eat on a Sunday in July, it said that the kitchen had opened until 19.30, we arrived at 18.15, but the kitchen was just about to close, so we couldn't eat that day. 🤨☹️

Rating for ice cream sales only:First: Phew, €2 for a scoop of ice cream. Then be amazed: the balls are huge, almost twice as big as usual. And then enjoy: really tasty!Conclusion: Great value for money, definitely again next time!

The food was overall disappointing. The fries were warm but not hot. The schnitzel was large, juicy and well fried in the pan. There was also a large portion of "cream sauce" with a rather pudding-like consistency and tasted like a finished product. The side salad was soaked in oil - vinaigrette??? None. The noodles with vegetables were sticky and the whole dish was not worth repeating. The much praised homemade ice cream on the menu was not available. A dessert alternative was not offered. Unfortunately there was no salad as a main course on the menu. The only really good thing was the tomato soup.

UPDATE: We have now been “guests” here a few times. Guest in quotation marks because you don't really feel like a guest. The atmosphere is much more, and in the truest sense of the word, FRIENDLY to FAMILY!!!Years after our first stay, I have noticed that the standard has been maintained or increased in all aspects (rooms, kitchen, service,......).But what always blows us away is the absolute warmth that greets us at Haus Mühlbach.We'll definitely be back :-D.2021: I am outraged that there are only 4.5 stars for this property on Google. :-(There are certainly "better" hotels or restaurants...AAAAABER........I don't know anything better in this price range!!!!!Background to this review:We rode our motorcycles through the West with three boys over a long weekend and of course also stopped off in the Eifel.I then booked this house because it was “only” meant to stay overnight and was simply the cheapest in the desired area.So we were looking for bed, snack and beer...When we rolled up to the parking lot in the evening, the first thing I liked was the proximity to the water. The hotel is located directly on the Rur (yes. WITHOUT the “h”.)Otherwise, the first impression, and this is not meant to be disrespectful in any way, was that of a mini golf course like in the 80s.But this was only the very first impression.As soon as we were greeted we felt warmly welcomed.We were shown to the rooms and were really amazed.Very modern rooms with great bathrooms. Excellent mattresses!!!!Unfortunately, I was only able to rest on this mattress for a short time because we wanted to meet for dinner soon.As I said... the first impression: mini golf course.So we thought we would get a menu on the table offering us currywurst or Jägerschnitzel with fries. FAR FROM THE MISS!!!!The map is very international and varied. Even for me, a vegetarian, there are different, interesting variations.But it wasn't the variety of species on the menu that overwhelmed us, it was simply the quality and taste of the food. We ended up with Italian, rustic, vegetarian and a cury on the table.CONSISTENTLY OUTSTANDING!!!!!And by that I don't mean "relatively good" because we expected less, but really GREAT!!!!We were expecting bed, snack and beer.We got comfortable accommodation, haute cuisine and KÖLSCH!!! (which is not irrelevant for a native of Cologne :-P)And because of all the indulgence, we don't want the always professional but warm, familiar service.We will definitely come back!!!!Thank you for everything.

Very nice rustic but cozy hotel. Large parking lot available. Nice rooms with decent beds. Very chic bathroom. Breakfast is delicious. Unfortunately, the restaurant was closed on the day we stayed overnight.
