Great rooms! Clean and tidy (180€ per room is also a strong price)The floor squeaks throughout the house due to the wooden floor but no one woke up :)Great atmosphere and the service ensures that, in our case, the bride and groom feel comfortable.I would come to Auel Castle again for events!

On October 4th, 2024 we celebrated our dream wedding with almost 60 people in Auel Castle. It was a perfect day all round and we would definitely do it again for special occasions! The main reason is not only the fairytale location, but also the combination of the possibility of a church wedding on site and the opportunity to stay overnight. This gave each of our guests the opportunity to be on site after the wedding and not have to drive again; Relax and toast and celebrate with us and spend the night on site in the evening.Location:The location and the surrounding area is a true dream. There is something to discover everywhere. Wonderful (wedding) photos can be taken, especially in the park. We had wonderful autumn weather and could have easily moved inside if it rained. Excellent photos would have been taken there too!My getting-ready (stylist Michelle, https://www.bymichellebeauty.de) took place in the Wilhelm Suite. From there I could see it when the first guests arrived. This was a very nice moment and increased the anticipation.The atmosphere in the Gobelin Hall was unique. The lighting including the candlelight and the flower decorations by dear Jennifer (https://www.floralesbraut-design.de) created a very atmospheric and dignified atmosphere.Later we went to the front area for the party. We were able to have our DJ David (https://www.alle-sinne.de) conveniently set up the DJ booth and the photo box in the next room. The fact that the dance floor was a reasonable size created a party atmosphere. We have already experienced in many locations that the dance floor was too large for the number of guests and as a result you seemed a bit “lost”.Chapel:Our wedding took place in the chapel. Our singer Eugen Nevo (https://www.eugen-nevo.de) played the in-house piano and sang our favorite songs. The piano was tuned especially for the big performance. The fact that the chapel is not as big as conventional churches creates a very atmospheric and familiar atmosphere.Eat:The food was terrific! After the rehearsal dinner, we decided on a set starter and a buffet. The starter's baked goat cheese was very good. The main course was a very tender beef fillet with primeur vegetables and rosemary potatoes; Corn-fed chicken breast in a light Dijon mustard sauce with tagliatelle and herb gnocci with a mushroom sauce. The mustard sauce was so good and we can only recommend every bride and groom to try it for themselves! In addition to our omnivores, we also had vegetarian and vegan guests. The vegan guests received separate dishes and were very enthusiastic. The restaurant responded to your food requests at all times and took all of your wishes into account!Due to all the excitement, we only managed to eat one portion, which we actually think is a shame 🥹Service:There was close contact with Ms. Deckert in the run-up to the event. We communicated a lot via WhatsApp. I received feedback from her immediately and we felt very well looked after at all times.On the actual wedding day, Christoph and his team served us excellently and very attentively. This is no longer a matter of course these days and therefore this point is particularly important to emphasize. The team noted who drank what throughout the evening and offered it accordingly. There is also a very high level of flexibility. This hotel deserves a rating of more than five stars. It's really wonderful. The place is extremely historical, like you are in the Middle Ages, plus the service and cleanliness is just great.

After contacting us in writing, an on-site inspection appointment was arranged. This was noticed. We were shown the rooms.The event manager then assured us that we would receive an offer the following day.Despite multiple calls, we waited in vain for this offer, let alone a callback. It was only after more than 3 weeks that I was able to contact the woman again. I was assured on the phone that I should actually receive the offer the following day.After I waited again in vain for a response, I wrote an email 2 days later.The answer was that the date we wanted (and which we had previously agreed upon and was therefore free) was no longer available and had already been taken.Conclusion: an absolute disgrace!

We celebrated a fantastic silver wedding anniversary at Auel Castle. Mr. Böttcher and his team were fantastic and, together with the fantastic location, ensured a lavish party until late in the morning. We would also give 6 stars!

If you are sensitive to road noise, then this is not the hotel for you as it's located 50m from the busy main road. The rooms facing the courtyard are also subject to whatever event is being celebrated in the main restaurant (in our case a birthday party on one of the evenings); so in summary if you like it loud, then you have nothing to worry about.

100 percent recommendation!We were able to celebrate our church wedding at Auel Castle. And I'm at a loss for words, it was so indescribably great. I don't know at all where to start.Since we come from Bavaria and are therefore not really accessible, communication was mainly via email. It was super easy, we always got quick answers and Ms. Deckert was always courteous and friendly. All questions were always answered promptly.An appointment for a viewing was quickly arranged so that we could look at the premises and only then make a decision regarding the reservation/booking. But as soon as we were welcomed by Mr. Böttcher and we were allowed to walk through the beautiful rooms on the old wooden floor, it was already done and we couldn't imagine a better location. The terrace with the wonderful view did the rest for us. So booked straight away.Next came a date for a rehearsal dinner, where we were allowed to try a selection from the menu that we had previously decided on. Everything was so delicious that we could hardly decide and ended up offering almost everything in the buffet. We were also allowed to do a little wine tasting, so in the end we chose two delicious wines.On the big day itself, every service staff was absolutely courteous and took care of every concern of our guests. Be it spontaneous photos with the little guests who had fallen in love with one of the ladies or constant refills of drinks. Even special requests were quickly fulfilled. Vegans, vegetarians and allergy sufferers were also taken into account when eating. There was always an alternative dish, so there were no problems. Of course the food was also outstanding. Particularly noteworthy here is the asparagus cream soup, which was particularly enjoyed by many guests, even those who don't actually like asparagus ;)The rooms we had to rent were in perfect condition. Each room was individual and had its own charm.All in all, we felt comfortable every second and would like to thank you very much for allowing us to spend such a wonderful day at Auel Castle.

I ONLY rate the BISTRO:Yesterday we were not served, even though we drew attention to ourselves. The boss only served the golf members. We (also golfers) and all other guests were ignored. After half an hour (the golf members were already drinking their second beer) we left and won't come back. Too bad!

We ordered a Christmas goose for home on Christmas Eve. This was deliciously prepared and with perfect instructions for finishing at home, this was a feast. We can definitely recommend this if you don't have time to be in the kitchen at Christmas... Many thanks again to the entire team!

We were able to celebrate our wedding at Auel Castle. We found the transparent and open homepage particularly helpful when looking for a wedding location, from which you could find numerous general conditions such as availability and price ranges. Unfortunately, this was the exception when we were researching a suitable location. From the first contact to the implementation of the big day, communication was always courteous and friendly. Questions could be asked at any time by phone, email or WhatsApp and were answered professionally in a timely manner. Our wishes were happily accommodated, and we were also able to benefit from tips from the castle's many years of experience. At first glance the costs seem very high, but for what you get, they are absolutely reasonable and not significantly higher compared to other locations. The only point of criticism is that the rehearsal dinner is only free for one person, but the wine tasting is free for two people. This logic did not make sense to us. If there is no event taking place the day before, decorating the evening before is easily possible by prior arrangement. This was of course a significant relief for us and made the preparations on the day itself easier. A big thank you to Mr. Böttcher and his team, who were professional and enjoyed their work during the celebration. Afterwards there was a lot of praise for the delicious food and the great implementation. Thank you very much, we had a wonderful wedding, which we will remember very positively.
