The JH Radebeul was a lovely discovery!I came with my class and we experienced the “Active in the Elbland” program. The hostel staff offered us a varied program in this context, and it was no problem to make minor changes due to the weather. The sanitary facilities are sufficient, but we had to coordinate the times a bit because another class shared the accommodation with us. A small recommendation for class leaders: don't forget earplugs (as with all school trips!). The cleanliness of the accommodation, the proximity to the S-Bahn and the perfectly organized program are particularly commendable.The highlight was the last evening with a self-directed barbecue and campfire. The hostel management provided us with stick bread at our request, and it was a dream to experience my class for a longer period of time without a cell phone in my hand! Thank you!Ps. Yes, there is only one power outlet in a room for four people (hence 4 stars), but I don't think a little "digital detox" is wrong.

Doesn't look anything like the pictures. The images are at least 10 years old. The visual condition of the building is really bad and the employees carried out room inspections without supervision and simply rummaged around in rooms where no one was inside. Not suitable for school classes as it will just be a disappointment.

We were there with the class. There were only 2 showers and 2 toilets for about 20 people. There was exactly one socket per room. Cleanliness was OK as was the buffet in the morning. Also worth mentioning is the sometimes unfriendly staff when checking out the rooms. Otherwise, the youth hostel was very mediocre. Because of the S-Bahn station right next to it, it is very flexible.

It's a great youth hostel, when I entered the dining room this morning I was amazed because I hadn't thought that (great for a youth hostel). The food is also good except that there is only breakfast. The rooms are in good condition, only the mattresses are too hard for some people. The outdoor area is OK. and the store is 10 minutes on foot.Overall 5 stars.

Hostel like from the last century. It's definitely clean and..... yes and. Not much more than that. We had exactly one socket in the room and a shower for around 20 people. There was just a small traffic jam in the morning. No lounge. Dinner on the first day was sausage goulash. One small plate per person. Directly with cheese on it. Honestly, I don't even know what else to write. Actually, we were all a bit shocked that these types of hostels still exist. We travel a lot and often stay in youth hostels. These have always been great, until now. A pity

We stayed in the youth hostel for a whole week with two school classes. We were very satisfied. The staff tried so hard to ensure the children had a great time. From breakfast to warm dinner to barbecue evening - everything was prepared with love and professionalism.The house is old and winding, but they still made the best of it. Due to the size of the rooms, it is simply not possible to install a bathroom in every room, so you have to live with shared showers and toilets. Since there is only one socket in each room and there was no WiFi available in the house, we only get 4 stars.However, there are 5 stars for the location: 3 minutes to the S-Bahn, with which you can easily get everywhere, 5 minutes to Kaufland and there is a large sports field opposite.Regarding the bad reviews, you have to say: It's not a hotel, you always have to keep that in mind when you look at the property.But what is extremely noticeable here is that the hostel management is making every effort to “keep the place running”. Respect!!!

On behalf of my class and also on my behalf, I would like to thank you for the 3 wonderful days in the youth hostel. Due to its proximity to Dresden and Moritzburg, we chose Radebeul and were NOT disappointed this time either. Very friendly staff, a nice program and very good food made the days fly by. THANK YOU again!Registration for the next class has already been submitted.

A classic youth hostel with very friendly staff. Every wish could be fulfilled. We were there for one night on the second stage as part of the Little John Bikes SachsenTour. A few more toilets and showers would be great. Otherwise highly recommended! Cycling Club Charlottenburg Berlin

I spent 4 great days here with my 4th grade class. The staff is friendly and helpful, the program organized by the hostel was great and everything worked perfectly. Thank you for that.The property clearly has GDR charm and was probably somewhat overlooked when it came to the renovation funding. My class thought it was really nice. The rooms are small and furnished in a classic JH style. You should know that there is no washing facility in the room. The showers are on the ground floor and are modern.The beds are really a bit short for fourth graders, which is not a problem and that tends to bother the carers.Breakfast was in a great buffet. Each child received a lunch box and a drinking bottle, which could be filled extensively. A good idea in terms of sustainability and waste avoidance.Dinner consisted of a dish with salad. It could always be made up for. Here I could imagine that it could be a little more for larger ones.I found the location on the S-Bahn to be an advantage as we were able to get there very cheaply. You can take the tram to the center of Dresden (10 minutes walk to the stop).My class thought everything was great and they were the focus. I will definitely come back for the next graduation trip.

We stayed at this facility for one night with 16 young people and 3 carers and many wanted to break off their stay after just an hour. And yes, we could have reported the defects straight away, but how does the management want to completely modernize the house within an hour, carry out friendliness training for some employees, relocate a railway line, etc. We didn't expect much from a youth hostel, but that was all nothing. The pictures on the homepage present the hostel in a good light, but ultimately they are just misleading.But from the beginning. The hostel can be a good starting point for activities. The reception by the gentleman at reception was very friendly. Afterwards we went to dinner. The food was good, but clearly not enough. That was the last positive thing until departure.Some boys put the cutlery in the wrong basket and were approached by a very rude person. Then we went into the rooms. 5 of the boys couldn't fit into the beds because they were 1.80 m tall. They ended up sleeping on the floor or chairs. The rooms are small and outdated. You really feel like you've been transported back to 1988. It smells musty and we understand something different by cleanliness. Everything is noisy. It creaks everywhere. Frosted glass is installed in the room doors, so it is constantly bright when someone walks across the hallway. A socket in the room for 5 young people who want to charge their cell phones. WiFi is there, but not the best. 2 toilets for so many guests is also very advantageous.You should note that there is a train station next door. The night was short. Breakfast from 8 a.m. to 9 a.m. Since there was another large group in the hostel and they went for breakfast promptly at 8, the dining room was 90% full until shortly before 9. A side room was empty but reserved.Among other things, they advertise a training camp - but that's not just training, you also have to eat and sleep and feel comfortable during the time - how is that supposed to work here.No matter - to each his own decision.We packed our things and left. We could have saved ourselves this overnight stay. We actually wanted to do something else, but after the night this was no longer possible.

Not recommended!!The food was canteen quality. The bathrooms, which were not in their own rooms, were an imposition for young people. You could see through shower walls (not lockable). Only 2 toilets for the whole house, which you could hardly sit in because the space was too small. The entire cleaning of the rooms was left to the students (including sweeping). The beds were too small to sleep comfortably. In general there was an unpleasant smell and spiders could also be seen. The program included a barbecue evening, where only 1 bratwurst was offered per student; dinner was skipped that evening. The location was very good as it could be reached by train and the Weniberge were very close. Conclusion: there are much cheaper youth hostels that are more modern and also offer a pleasant stay, which was nowhere near the case here.

Not recommended. It's close to the train station, so you can always hear the train (even at night). Beds suitable for people under 1.60m tall.

Overall, the youth hostel in Radebeul is quite solid. The rooms are relatively clean, but there is a slightly bad-smelling, deeper smell in the room. The food is a bit limited and very monotonous in taste. The WiFi isn't particularly good, but the breakfast is OK.

My son and I stayed in this house for one night while passing through. Yes, the house is old and is long past its best, the rooms are small, the sanitary facilities are in the hallway but are well maintained. The staff was very warm and friendly. This is how you imagine a holiday in the GDR if you were born “Wessi”. The house and the garden have a special charm for us; it seems as if both were simply forgotten in the general renovation frenzy. I'm sure many guests and staff love it. Everything should remain as it is, a living monument from a bygone era, it's great that something like this still exists!Kind regards and all the best!Elmar Jörissen

Very small rooms with no toilets and no washing facilities, only one socket, although multiple sockets can be borrowed. Showers and laundry facilities in common rooms on the ground floor. Toilets in the hallway on the upper floor. The lounge described on the internet is not available. We specifically asked about this upon arrival. Unfortunately, the room is relatively noisy due to the train stop being within walking distance (train traffic). Now for the positive things. Breakfast is buffet style. The kitchen staff is absolutely friendly. The outside area has a football pitch (partly rocky) and two table tennis tables, one of which is just dirty and the other is very run down. Rackets and balls can be borrowed.

The house exudes old GDR charm and is lovingly run. However, the rooms are not equipped with wet rooms, so showers and toilets must be used in common areas. Unfortunately, the showers are not spatially separated from each other. The students have a problem with this. The outdoor area is great and the nearby sports field, swimming pool and train station are ideally located.
