Campingplatz Hörnum

We love the Hörnum campsite and have been camping in the dunes every summer for several years. The infrastructure is fine - the real luxury is the location in nature and the immediate proximity to the beach. This summer we were hit by two storms. In a critical situation - wind gusts up to force 12 bft. - the campsite team actively helped us late in the evening to evacuate us from the dune with children during the unexpectedly strong storm night and to find them somewhere else to stay for the night. Big thanks to Matthias and Dieter, who were there, but also to Susanne and Leo in the office! We hope that this team will continue to be responsible in the future, because people like this make a good campsite! Already booked for next year!

Great location, nice people and very clean.

Parking space directly behind the dunes with top clean sanitary facilities. Recommended restaurant in the immediate vicinity.Camping staff were extremely nice and helpful, so Matthias provided us with lots of tips about the area, but also about the onward journey to Denmark. Good morning,A week of camping in the dunes. We liked it very much.Staff very friendly and helpful :)Showers and toilets are always clean. The beach is less than 5 minutes from the campsite. Always happy 👍👍👍👍👍

We stayed on the pure motorhome parking space for a week and we really liked it. The sanitary facilities were also great and the location was great in our opinion. You can quickly walk to the beach, to the bus stop or even into town. We will definitely come back.What else to mention. is that you get a ticket for public transport and can easily explore the island if you don't want to cycle or the weather is bad.

Great campsite in the middle of the dunes. Friendly staff and clean sanitary facilities. However, the sanitary building is very outdated and the showers are not included in the price. There is an urgent need for action here. In addition, you now have to pay an extra fee for moving in and out of the parking space and if the space is busy it can be more expensive according to the price information on the website. This is incomprehensible to us. We would possibly come back again if the sanitary building was renovated and the price charged would then be justified.

I love the beach here, the dunes are natural and beautiful. You camp on a large sandy area and there are paths leading to the areas in the dunes, which I found very nice. However, you have to run over the place of the one in front of you and vice versa. Showers and toilets are fine, you need coins for hot water! I think it's stupid given the price you're already paying... The beach restaurant seemed very expensive to me, but eating out is like that everywhere on Sylt. The staff is rather snippy/distant and not as familiar as the other guests. Would come again unless it gets even more expensive

Unfortunately it wasn't open yet

We were at this campsite with my girlfriend at the end of August. It was a wonderful time, the campsite is very quiet, we pitched our tent in a secluded place surrounded by rosehip bushes and enjoyed the grace of this place, then we went for a swim to the sea. The beach is wonderful - this is Sylt after all! The campsite offers everything you need for hygiene and the reception staff are very pleasant.

I'm usually on the pitch every year out of necessity, for family reasons. Since I was there for the first time 25 years ago, nothing has changed about the place. This should not be taken as a positive thing. The post-war charm pervades the square.Sanitary facilities: The toilets are clean, but outdated and noisy, the showers are narrow and have to be paid for with change using a coin machine! Since I usually never have any change and I always have to worry about where I should get the coins from, I take a cold shower.Staff: has gotten better since last year, before grumpy, moody, unfriendlyFood: Mediocre food in the adjacent restaurant and far too expensive for the quality offered.Location: catastrophe! Only sand, you can't see any of the water, you can't see the horizon either. The location exudes the charm of a bomb crater or a large wagon castle, which is well protected against intrusion from outside due to its narrowness.Prices: EVERYTHING IS WAY TOO EXPENSIVE for this horrible service! The place is currently being or should be renovated, after which it will become even more expensive.The beach: desolate! The sand is as hard as concrete in places due to the (environmentally harmful!) annual sand replenishment.Internet: Disaster! Wi-Fi is catastrophically bad, mobile reception is almost non-existent, only at the top of the building.I have been to many places in the world and would avoid this place if I could. I can't understand why anyone would want to spend their vacation there voluntarily.
