The rooms are small but clean. Toilet and showers are separate, if you want one for two rooms you need to pay extra.. One of the advantages is three minutes walk from the station

An absolutely terrible youth hostel. I had to spend 5 days there and was deeply shocked by the conditions there. There are tons of flaws which I will discuss below. The house was built in 1896 and was probably expanded during the DD R era. But not much has changed since then.

We were here with a larger group (40 people). We received a very friendly welcome and were always treated personally and very courteously during our stay. The food (breakfast buffet, packed lunches and freshly cooked dinner including salad bar) was above average good and tasty for youth hostel standards. The breakfast buffet was very varied and sustainable. The location is great for exploring the city center on foot. The rooms are a bit old and a bit worn in places and some are a bit narrow (some still have a bathroom in the hallway). It's just not a hotel. It suited our purposes very well (group trip with young people for 5 days to explore the city). And I have rarely had such nice service in a youth hostel. Thank you.

A good youth hostel and the points that bother me are: *In the room:* My friend had a marten in his bed, there was only one socket in the room (even in rooms of 6), several broken things in the room, not enough coat hooks in the room Closets (there wasn't even one per person) *In the bathroom:* few bathrooms distributed in the rooms, showers cannot be locked and you can see through them. *Location:* narrow space and close to the street, no garden, no nice view

Very nice and courteous polite staff. Particular emphasis is placed on cleanliness. The location is a true dream for Weimar explorers as well as day trippers to Erfurt or Eisenach!We'd love to come back!

We stayed at the Germania youth hostel in October 2024 with two school classes and it was just great: excellent and super friendly staff, great cuisine, e.g. B. homemade tartar sauce with fresh herbs and the best location for large groups: 150m from the train station and approx. 10 minutes from the Goethe-Schiller monument. We will definitely be coming back with two school classes. Many thanks again to the kitchen team, who catered to every request

We were in the Germania Youth Hostel with 2 classes in October 2024. We can highly recommend the house! Great food, very clean rooms, great location near the train station and very very nice staff. We will definitely be back!!!

It is a youth hostel. Neither more nor less. Clean, simple rooms, good sanitary facilities, a classic breakfast buffet that even has a selection for vegetarians and vegans, as well as gluten-free bread options. The staff is friendly. The location is good.

Such a bottomless impudence... I don't even know where to start.A real juice shop.- Mold no matter where you look- Piss stains on the beds, sometimes even blood- Holes in the floor, in the walls and partly in doors...- Moldy food behind the cupboards and beds (that's all there is in a room)- Cleanliness... Yes, sleeping under a bridge is more pleasantI'm simply shocked that a hovel like this is allowed as a "youth hostel" in Germany... That would be a case for the health department.It's really disgusting... being banned there would be like winning the lottery.DEFINITELY NOT RECOMMENDED IF YOU WANT TO GET HOME SAFE.

Was on a study trip with my level.Due to the diverse reception, we arrived without expectations, but we were still deeply disappointed.1st roomThe first second we entered the room we wanted to leave. The bed had not been cleaned since the fall of the Berlin Wall. Blood stains on the pillows, yellow/white unidentifiable stains on the mattress. No shower or toilet in the room. 2 sockets out of reach of the beds. The bed was 75 cm wide which is very generous. The bed sheets stank of vinegar. At least there was a sink in the room, although there were no limits to minimalism. In addition, the walls felt like they were made of cardboard, meaning that if you wanted to go to sleep before going to bed, you would be bombarded with noises from both sides until you either ripped your ears off or pressed the brick-like pillow onto your head.2. Shared toilets/showersAfter the shock of the room, I first had to empty myself, but this turned out to be more difficult than expected, there was an odor in the toilet that was similar to that of a sewage treatment plant. Even after 4 days of continuous ventilation, this was still noticeable. The showers had frosted glass, but you could decipher every detail of the person showering. What's more, the showers didn't have a lock, which meant you had to put a guard in front of your own shower. Some people also reported that they couldn't regulate the showers, which meant either you got a 3 degree burn or you spent 4 days stinking.3. FoodOur teacher had said that nothing would be left to be desired at breakfast, but we were still disappointed here. Judging by the taste, the baked rolls were ordered by Temu the week before, the juice was pure sugar and the packed lunches that you could put together were way overpriced.4. LocationThe hostel is centrally located, which might be a blessing for some, but a curse for us. At night we couldn't leave the windows open because we could hear not only traffic but also deafening screams from outside. At least there were good restaurants in the area where you could counteract the delicious breakfast.All in all, I would NOT recommend this hostel, but you need to know.

The woman at the reception was very nice and accommodating.There was a complete lack of friendliness at breakfast and when leaving the hostel.You could rent towels for €2 👍

There was a very unfriendly gang supervisor with an East German dialect who was clearly intent on rowdy behavior. Be sure to watch out for it! Otherwise, the only positive thing you can say is that the kebab shop around the corner offers very generous portions for a fair price. Otherwise a juice shop!

Absolutely disgusting!!!We were last in the JH as a group and it just wasn't nice!The rooms are “gnawed” everywhere, the cupboards are full of sticky liquids and there is rubbish behind the cupboard and in the corners and everything is dirty.You really don't want to sleep there!!Overall, the JH is pretty run down and the food is only mediocre.It's okay if you want to spend less money, but definitely not my go-to in Weimar anymore.

So I was here with my class as a final trip. Unfortunately, we had a mentally disabled classmate with us who was bullied by the receptionist. Accessibility for wheelchair users is also zero, so we were stressed the whole time and couldn't relax.The rooms are a complete disaster with mold in every corner and a rat running freely through the rooms.I can't recommend it to anyone with any common sense.
