Booked for 6 people, unfortunately due to illness we only arrived with 4. Still present at the moment. Wonderfully quiet and beautiful surroundings. The old school is a beautiful building, the apartment (above right) is very nice and spacious enough. Some downsides:*curtains should be better closed in the bedrooms, in 1 bedroom there is nothing at all. A screen on the windows would also be nice. Nowadays there is a lot of trouble with wasps, so the windows cannot actually be opened.*The photos show cozy lamps in the living room, which are not there.*There is not much in the kitchen, but there is sufficient crockery. The area for washing dishes is small, and tall people cannot stand there at all. a (small) dishwasher would be nice.*Apartment is clean. Not the staircase, as we found quite a lot of dust and cobwebs there.* There could be a trigger for the water in the bathroom, the sanitary facilities are very nice.* We had hoped to have an opportunity to have a BBQ outside, but I didn't see that that was possible.* regarding the contact with the landlords, I have not (yet) experienced that as very good. We still owe some money, but the landlord is not at home, also via booking.com.

We live in a beautiful holiday apartment in the historic school. We really like the location for vacationing with our dog. Ideal for exploring the Franconian surroundings and also for the Thuringian Forest.

This accommodation exceeded all of our expectations. The Old School Spittelstein is a place to feel good and relax. The apartment was extremely well maintained and comfortably furnished. We would come back in a heartbeat.

The Old School is a wonderful place to celebrate. Great value for money. Landlords are very helpful. Definitely highly recommended. A flagship of our now former homeland. We were thrilled.

It's not the prettiest holiday apartment, but it's a really rustic one.We were there for 10 days, had lots of space, nice surroundings and good landlords ☀️. Would love to vacation there again.

Small signs of wear and tear not swept and beds were quite soft. WiFi didn't really work, otherwise great. The outdoor area is well maintained and invites you to relax. A nice destination

It's not about rooms, service and location. Surely everything is ok. The old school is a great celebration room for 40-50 people. Nice bar, everything lovingly designed. Silver wedding anniversary with favorite people. What more could you want?

I rented the entire house (event hall and 3 apartments) for a birthday party.Please note: The intermediate door from the event room to the holiday apartments is always locked. Opening costs an additional €150. You have to book this if necessary.Unfortunately, the bedrooms cannot be darkened; there are no blinds or blinds on the windows. This is not an advantage, especially under the roof in summer. There is also no dishwasher, which I personally. I think it's a shame.

This location is unique. The guest room for events, which is actually reminiscent of the school, creates endless ambience. The bar in the adjoining room is beautifully designed and invites you to linger. Toilets new and beautiful. Likewise the hotel rooms, a dream. When the weather is nice, a large garden with a massive pavilion. Always my pleasure. Already booked several times and my niece's wedding will continue in November. I look forward to it :)
