The hotel only has a few rooms and is located on the 27th floor of the tower that towers over Jena. Check-in takes place on the ground floor, then you go up in one of the 6 elevators. …

The only thing that deserves 4 stars is the view. The hotel rooms are very modern. The open bathroom and gray furniture create an impersonal impression. Our room was very shabby. The walls with lots of stains, the bathtub with cracks that made it look dirty and broken cosmetics from a previous person don't make a good impression. It's also strange that you only get one room key, especially when you consider that the second person can't even get to the room to knock without one. The reception is not always staffed either.However, the view is spectacular. You can sit in the window and enjoy the view from above.

We each had the 5 course menu for €127The food was sophisticated, very varied. Unfortunately the main course was cold! And the starter, intermediate course and main course came in bowls to share. A strange concept for me, you had to fill your own plate. Our cellar lady was absolutely not a skilled person!!! She had difficulty serving, short and sometimes incomprehensible explanations of the dishes, difficulty clearing away (the cutlery fell to the floor several times) and was not attentive to the drinks.With this fine cuisine, this service spoils the entire evening. I'll think long and hard before I visit the Scala again.

Dining in the middle of Jena, high above the city, was a culinary delight. I invited my girlfriend to celebrate my birthday with her. And it would be a “fireworks display” of a special type of enjoyment. Starting with the starters, through the main course, to the desserts. It was a culinary delight. Even the eye, because the presentation is impressive, is already there.It tasted very good; in my opinion, such a variety of individual delights was and cannot be found again in Jena. In addition, the operation explained the individual positions very well.In my opinion, the price for such an evening is justified.And it's worth coming back.

Very cool hotel on the 27th floor of the Jentower. Check-in very well organized and nice staff. Spacious room with chic furnishings and interesting light sources. Fantastic view and everything very clean.

You can save yourself the trip to the tower. Two different dishes for lunch, lamb rump and trout Müllerin are probably a bit poor and you have to look for the portions on the plate. You wait for hours for hobby waiters and the furniture leaves a lot to be desired. And that with the prices! Never again! Well, it's being read and evaluated and it's a lie that the bars are bending! The two of us were with them on a Sunday - so there are witnesses.

I had lunch in this top floor restaurant of the Jena tower a Monday early August of 2024 on the recommendation by my wine merchant in town. I had an Asian inspired halibut that is one of the very best versions of this delicate fish that I have ever tasted including in Iceland. The restaurant features a very good wine list and the Spätburgunder by the glass I drank was of excellent quality. Overall a great lunch with top value for money incuding the view over the city.

The panoramic breakfast is absolutely recommended. For the price there is no better breakfast buffet in Jena.Some restaurants or cafés have almost similar prices.

An already confirmed table reservation is canceled at short notice due to too many guests in the house.But the table can always be booked online and can hardly be reached by phone.They don't even apologize for the cancellation.I was able to cancel my guests again... Does that always happen there? You really can't plan anything like that.

We celebrated our first wedding anniversary at Scala and enjoyed a menu. Excellent and unusual food, also for vegetarians. You sometimes eat compositions that you would probably never have eaten otherwise. For example, we have duck liver with chocolate shavings. But then you're almost amazed at how well the individual components fit together :)Toilets are available and clean. Access to the restaurant is actually only possible via a lift and then stairs and therefore accessibility is difficult. But maybe there are possibilities that we don't know about.

Late today without an appointment, late for breakfast for two. Still got space. Nice individual offer. Also for lactose intolerance. Great oat latte conjured up, goat cheese available. Chia with coconut milk. Delicious types of fish. Very tasty, crispy fresh salad and vegetables, very good avocado cream. Good Earl Grey. View in sunshine. Completely successful.See you again soon!
