Bov Kro was in several ways a surprisingly good experience. We got a room in the not very nice extension, but got an apparently newly renovated and really nice room with a correspondingly nice bathroom. Our stay was part of a package, so we couldn't decide for ourselves what to have for dinner, but we were treated to delicious bread with tomato tapanade and then super well-roasted deer leg with mushrooms and port wine glace. And ended with a really good chocolate mousse. All in all a really delicious meal. The staff were nice, attentive and helpful. The inn can definitely be recommended.

Padborg in Denmark is a border town on the Denmark/Germany border dominated by huge lorry parks on the Denmark side. The hotel, in a quiet residential street is much the only other business in the town. The information about the hotel states that it is very old, but the accomadation is in a more modern extention at the back. The rooms are 'motel' style, with doors facing the free car park. The walkway in front of the rooms is covered by a roof, but open to the elements. Most rooms you can park just outside your room, but not everyone. At the side of the car park is a public footpath, which passes from the road at the front and goes past the hotel.The rooms are large and comfortably furnished. The style is not modern but OK. There are two doors to get into the bedroom, the outside door, which is a small vestibule, and then an inner door. It does mean that you can open the front door without seeing into the bedroom or losing all the heat. The bathroom is off the vestible. The bed was comfotable and clean. The window of our room looked at the very rear of the hotel, so anyone walking on the path at the side could see in. Mostly this was dog walkers and not much of a problem.The bathroom is far too small. I expect that when this extention to the hotel was built it was OK, but it's not now. It operates as a wet room, with a shower curtain. This means that when showering everything gets wet. It only needs a little bit of the bedroom to make it better, as there is lots of room there.We ate dinner in the resturant. There's not much choice locally, apart from food places in the lorry parks. I found the food good and the service was excellent, apart from when the waiter dropped 2 large glasses of beer on the table. We were quickly moved to another table and the drinks were made complimentary. The resturant was busy with both hotel guests and locals. Prices were a little high, but we found that they were consistent with the costs of food in Denmark.Breakfast was fine. The selection good. It is not taken in the main resturant but in a room at the back of the hotel with a view of the garden (see photos). It was a bit cool to sit outside, but nice to have a view.

Enjoyed Bov Kro's artisan offer for almost 3 months. Great place, friendly staff and delicious food - every time.Denmark's best sirloin casserole. It is all highly recommended!

Lovely old inn with a nice and user-friendly garden, in quiet surroundings. Nice rooms with 2 single beds which were put together. Nice toilet with shower. The only thing I missed a little bit was a small fridge, as it was super hot when we stayed overnight. The food was ordinary Danish food, but fantastically well prepared, and at very reasonable prices. The staff were top notch. Super friendly and always ready to help. Lovely good mood and with a funny remark. All in all, a really nice place.

After a week in Germany on the way home, we were just looking for some good Danish inn food before the last part of the way home and here Bov Kro appeared quickly.We made a table reservation and were very well received at the best table in some fantastic rooms.Tired and hungry, we were served some of the best bread we have tasted for a long time as an appetizer, even on the house, while we waited for the main course.The beer from Nørrebro Bryghus is really good and when the main course came we had no doubt that this was the best we have eaten in the last week, and unfortunately we were far too tired and full to eat dessert as well.Thanks to the inn for cozy surroundings, the staff for the best service, and the chef for fantastic food.We will definitely come back again 😍😁

Have eaten at Bov Kro first and last time. Mega bad wienerschnitzel and roasted potatoes that looked like ready-made frozen food and fried directly on the pan far too much, really exhausted and without taste...never again..

Good location for an overnight stay during the return journey from Sweden by car. Room has a good bed, shower and WiFi connection. And after a great overnight stay and breakfast, the return journey could be continued!
