I was there last weekend with my sister for an overnight stay and we were very excited about everything that awaited us there. From the beautiful, quiet room, with super comfortable beds, to the nice welcome from Mr. Maßem, who kindly let us into our room early. But the highlight was the delicious dinner in the inn, the meatloaf was amazing! We had to take several things home from the butcher shop! It should also be mentioned that after a restful night, a very tasty breakfast awaited us! Thank you to the entire Maßem family and also to the entire staff who gave us this wonderful stay. We were here with 6 people to eat and stay overnight. First of all, it should be said: everything was right here. The rooms are very well equipped, cleanliness only one word "top"The food, we had different dishes, was very tasty and to the point, very good organic meat. Thanks to the chef. Some star chefs can learn something from this. The breakfast was plentiful, everything fresh and very tasty bread. The waitress was very attentive and very friendly. If you haven't been here yet, you should definitely do so. We'll definitely see each other again.Keep it up family Maßem 👍👋

We (11 cyclists) had a delicious meal and were personally taken to the restaurant by Mr. Maßen. A very clear recommendation, even for vegetarians!The wine (we had a Riesling from the Tesch winery) was also tasty.

If you are on vacation nearby or are just passing through, you should definitely stop by there. We and our family group (7 adults) had more delicious food there than we had in a long time. Straw pork and organic beef fed with French herbs, cooked to perfection!! The large portions had to be eaten because of the taste. A very lovely host and his crew rounded off the evening perfectly. In the small attached shop you can buy organic sausage (Katenwurst etc.) without any additives. We would like to come here. Thanks

After the evening television report on SWR on August 15th. The following day I spontaneously set out to visit the butcher shop. By train from Gerolstein to Ehrang. Then with the e-scooter on the Ruwer cycle path to Schillingen, where I arrived around 3 p.m., but found myself in front of locked doors. Opening at 5 p.m.I would have liked to wait, but then I wouldn't have caught the last train in Trier main station.It's a shame I couldn't try any sausage and take it with me... but it was a nice trip at 27 degrees.

Country inn with a small butcher's shop that deserves its name. Regional food, some organic, sourced from the surrounding area. Nice service, good service. No “bells and whistles” at all.

Delicious food in this attractive authentic restaurant. It's like going back in time 30-40 years, but the menu is up to date with German classics, vegan dishes and organic meat from the region. Clearly people with a love for the profession and a warm heart for their fellow man. No Dutch business hospitality, but pleasant service and involvement

Restaurant with an attached butcher shop, a lot of love for good ingredients and a healthy dose of cosmopolitanism. We had a fantastic evening and were picked up and brought back from the hotel by the friendly owner.We will be back!

Very nice, family-run restaurant in the heart of Schillingen.The food is really great and prepared with a lot of love. I think it's so great that emphasis is placed on quality, regionality and sustainability here. You can hardly find that anywhere else in the area and I'm happy to spend a little more on my steak knowing that it doesn't come from factory farming!Great concept!

We went to eat at the inn because our hotel (Seehotel Kell) offered a free shuttle service. We were driven by the restaurant boss himself ;-)The menu was very extensive and varied. We had meatloaf and an asparagus schnitzel. Both were excellent in terms of quality and taste. You could see the attached butcher's shop - where you could also shop directly until 9 p.m., including wild ham and many other delicacies. Despite the butcher shop, vegetarians and vegans will also find what they are looking for on the menu. Overall, the dishes sounded very appealing. What we found remarkable was the warmth and joy with which we were served. Apparently everyone in this family business enjoyed their work, which made us feel even more comfortable. Thank you very much, the Maßem family - we will definitely be back!

Solid traditional German restaurant. The food served is of good quality and the portions are well sized. The prices are a little above the usual level, but reasonable given the quality. The service staff is still from the old school and knows how to look after guests.Update 04.2024 The quality is still very good, but the increase in prices here to the current level is incomprehensible in my opinion. No thanks, luckily there are other guesthouses in the area with more reasonable prices.

We have been to the restaurant several times with several people. The staff was always very friendly. The dishes were always very tasty, even if the price was significantly higher than other rural restaurants in the area. After the new price increase, we were jointly of the opinion that such prices for the dishes were no longer justified. The dishes on the menu have now also been greatly reduced. Fewer dishes and significantly more expensive prices - that's no longer appropriate. It's a shame, we would have liked to continue to come regularly.
