I came across this accommodation by chance. You should be aware that there is no 24-hour reception on site. But I don't need that either. The keys may be handed over via a code that you receive and with which you can open a corresponding "mailbox". Contact by phone/SMS is quick and friendly. My room was clean, spacious and very interestingly decorated. The bathroom with shower was renovated. There were no disturbing noises from the adjoining rooms (not noisy). WiFi is available and there was a box of water in the hallway that you could help yourself from. The breakfast was a bit sparse but it was enough for me.

Check in from 2 p.m., we were there between 1 and 1:15 p.m. They were already expected because the lady, who was very nice by the way, wanted to get off work. OK, when we wanted to go into town later, there was no one there, we closed the front door, then we realized that we hadn't received any information on how to get back into the house, the room card doesn't work, OK, at some point Much later, when we rang the bell, the door opened, but we didn't know who opened it.We called, rang the bell at the reception, called a number where you supposedly could reach someone, nothing, OK, we heard voices in the basement and found someone who asked in a rather unfriendly manner, How did you get in here? He said that the blue bell then automatically opens the door.Unpleasant person, thought it was the caretaker, later we knew he was the landlord. It was generally clean. But things are getting better, the big table is already very dusty in the many cracksThere was a lack of storage space in the bathroom and not a hook for towels. The heating in the bathroom and in the room was only lukewarm. The room I booked had a view of the street, our room had a view of the backyard! The breakfast room was very impressive, but very cold in terms of the tables, there was nothing on them, just the bare table top, which has seen better days. Nails and hooks in the wall above the passage to the buffet, without pictures! You go to the buffet and suddenly you're in the small kitchen at the back, with no boundaries, you're suddenly standing at the stove, right in the middle of the action, maybe that's a new trend? Self-service?Above the buffet, where the sausage was, the kitchen inventory, such as pots, pans and other utensils, was stacked high. When we came, at half past 8, there were a few slices of salami, and 3 slices of ham, only smeared cheese, 3 slices of salmon, no horseradish cream!, eggs, and sweets, a large Nutella jar with a spoon in it, no bowls where to put them can do it purely.Unfortunately very disappointing.

A very homely hotel 💛 the location is ideal, very central and well connected… the facilities are carefully decorated, with very nice details and that together with the construction of the building take you back to another era.The price is Fair and yet what you receive is much more. The service is what takes the biggest prize in this place: everyone was more than kind to us, you can see the intention and search to make the guests feel at home, they cared about everything and supported us with everything. The breakfast was very good, prepared with love by Mrs. Liliana who welcomed us every morning and we were glad for the visit. The details in the hospitality and decoration of the place make evident the pleasure of this hotel in receiving its guests ☺️

We stayed at the Avalon for 3 nights in May and booked an apartment for 95 EUR. To be fair: The location is great, good transport connections, the rooms are individually and friendly furnished. But: In the apartment we discovered that the television wasn't working. At the reception they said, yes, sorry, it's broken! We asked for another room, which was also possible. Unfortunately the room wasn't even cleaned during the 3 days! Only at our express request was 1 roll of toilet paper added and the hand soap refilled. Due to the design, the bathroom was under water after showering, so daily cleaning would have been helpful. Fresh towels were only given when we asked. The windows in the room were not cleaned (see photo). The breakfast buffet was minimalistic and was refilled, but only after almost everything had been taken away. After the stay, we noticed that several identically worded, very positive reviews had been given by name for the Avalon and the owner's second hotel, Mr. Niebur? We won't book there again and won't recommend it to others. It's actually a shame, there's still a lot of room for improvement. 95 EUR is too much money for this poor service!
