When we go to the Nordschleife, we always like to stay overnight in this idyllic country house Sonnenhof, above Adenau. The rooms with balconies have a beautiful view of the countryside and in the morning you can sometimes hear the racing cars on the track in the distance.The rooms are cozy, the team is very friendly and we always enjoy the really varied breakfast, with the scrambled eggs being particularly worth mentioning. In the evening you can take a beer or wine to your room.Parking spaces are plentiful. We will come again!

Great hotel, really friendly staff, great views. Clean rooms and bathrooms. Very little noise at our room, a lot of racing sounds at the other side of the hotel (we had 2 rooms opposing sides). The hotel is really near the race track. But we had no issues with the noise because it pretty far away. But if you're looking for rest ask for the low noise side.Breakfast was good, and coffe was excellent quality (German coffee can be so-so at hotels)Location is really nice, driving nearby (by car or motorcycle) is great.

A great weekend lies behind me in the country house... A nice, clean room with a balcony and a great view of the valley... Every morning we were greeted with a large, rich breakfast that was ready to start the day...The garden is still waiting for the gardener and the wooden elements are still waiting for the painter... but craftsmen are just hard to come by :-)Overall, I/we are very satisfied and would be happy to come back...

We were only there for 2 days, but it is a cozy and quiet hotel. The staff is very friendly and the room was nice too. Super delicious and opulent breakfast. So completely satisfied.

Rooms very clean and interestingly decorated.Breakfast good and rich.Unfortunately, the associated outdoor area is not maintained (certainly very labor-intensive)Staff inconspicuous, everything inside is well cleaned.

Be careful when booking: The description on the Sonnenhof homepage is not true! No catering in the outdoor area, which is also totally unkempt and dirty. It is not possible to get a drink, coffee, cake or food during the day or evening. Given the condition of this accommodation, that might be better. The restaurant is closed.Reception was closed even though I arrived on time, the key was in the flower box.Room with a bad smell, balcony dirty, toilet brush disgusting.Owner very unfriendly and smokes, with the staff near the breakfast room.For the price of €147 it's an absolute rip-off!The hotel used to be very nice.My stay was from June 23rd to 24th, 2025 - never again!

Be careful with this accommodation. Doesn't correspond to the homepage, but full price (147€ for the room per night). Pure ripoff. Would give zero stars if possible. Overnight stay from June 23rd - 24th, 2024.Gastronomy:No catering available, neither drinks nor food during the day or evening. Breakfast is ok, unfortunately the hosts and staff smoke in the guest rooms near the breakfast room.Reception:Was not occupied when we arrived at 5:30 p.m. Note on the door that the room key is in the right flower box.Room:Musty smell, hasn't been aired for a long time. AltbachenBalcony:Unkempt. Table and chairs dirty. Balcony railing overgrown with verdigris.Sauna:Not in useGarden and terraces:Feral. The landscape is a dream. The garden is full with greenery and flowers. The owners are extraordinary, always smiling, always there for their guests. The breakfast is rarely seen as divers in Western Europe. The Nurburgring is at 10 minutes and the restaurants close to the hotel. In just one word: INCREDIBLE! Thank you, we'll return soon.

Room was clean and spacious. Breakfast was delicious. We arrived at half past two, the hotel turned out to be closed. And at 2 o'clock they opened. I was hoping for warm hospitality, but unfortunately it was all very businesslike.

I stayed here for 3 days with my daughter last week. Very friendly owner, everything very nice, motorcycle could be stored safely, breakfast was very extensive, everything fresh. Near the Nurburging, a 10-minute walk to the center of Adenau. Recommended !!

It is not an average hotel. It is a special place, where the owner does his very best to keep everything running. The view is beautiful here and breakfast is great. For us it feels like coming home.
