Great guesthouse. Very nice operator.We stayed there for one night in the motorhome (self-sufficient).The location right on the Ochsenkopf is great.There was even a bread roll service.Simply great.

This is the second time we have stayed at the inn and once again we were not disappointed. The whole family welcomes you with great hospitality and good humor. Also always worth a visit: The Maria Alm - just a few meters away. :-) The breakfast table is well laid out, nothing is missing. The dinner (only for house guests, so you don't have to worry about making a reservation) is very tasty and more than enough after a tiring day of hiking. The hikes in and around Bischofsgrün leave nothing to be desired. Afterwards you can relax in the cozy rooms or on the balcony. You almost feel like you are at home. A perfect vacation. We'll be back!

I knew this guesthouse from a visit 30 years ago and wanted to know if it was still as excellent there;Yes! that's it!The son and his wife now run the house, but their goal is the same as back then: to give their guests a great stay. You quickly feel the warm family atmosphere, are treated to a traditional dinner that meets the highest standards of quality, craftsmanship and freshness, which has become rare these days, and relax in spacious, quiet and very well-kept rooms.And the parents are also still involved, on the Maria Alm, a little way up the mountain. If you're lucky, the senior will play songs from the guests' homeland on the accordion to accompany home-baked cake.What else do you need to be happy? I've been waiting 30 years until we come back; )). Thanks!

We agree with all the very good reviews. Beautiful rooms with balconies, nothing is missing at breakfast and there is also a choice for a plentiful evening meal. For in-between meals there is a KS with a good selection of drinks in the dining room - and the entire Rieß family is friendly and always there for the guests.

Hammerschmiede is a small family-run inn in the beautiful Fichtelgebirge.Very nice and quiet location and nice rooms with a view. Very good and well prepared German food.Above all, very friendly and accommodating hosts who take care of the guests.

We received an extremely warm welcome. Well-kept, very clean and familiar guesthouse in a prime location. The dinner was very tasty. Bathroom newly renovated. Large balcony. We immediately felt comfortable. Great hiking suggestions every day.Also the Maria Alm, which is part of it at its best! We had a very relaxing holiday and would love to come back, keep it up.

Star-level tourist gastronomy!We were there with the motorhome, even the telephone registration was courteous, polite and friendly. Quiet parking space by the stream; The hosts are really professional restaurateurs, we immediately felt at home. Dinner lovingly prepared, crispy, fresh and hard to beat in terms of taste…respect!I will always remember the homemade elderflower spritzer.We also highly recommend a visit to the “snack bar” Maria Alm, located a little above the valley station…….homemade cakes, warm hosts; The term “snack bar” is clearly an understatement.Conclusion: very happy again

Very friendly and helpful, give good advice about hiking. Nice breakfast, you can even get dinner from Thursday to Monday.You can take drinks out of the fridge at any time. Rooms are very clean and with a balcony.

Very familiar and above all warm inn. Beautiful rooms with large balconies in a beautiful setting. We felt extremely comfortable and welcomed from day one. The food is EXCELLENTLY GREAT.

During the “post-holiday period” with Corona rules, we received a very friendly welcome in this house. Our room was in top condition, the service was optimal and we were happy to receive personal tips for excursions and information about the area.Restaurant also nice with excellent food and, as already described, with great all-round service.Thank you - we'll be back!
