Prior to anything happening-- my travel companions and I were really enjoying ClinkNOORD. Though, as soon as we left the premises all four of us discovered that we had picked up head lice. This was incredibly frustrating for all of us due to us having to miss classes and waste a lot of time and money. When I made an attempt at contacting someone about our issue to figure out some sort of solution, I was left ignored. We did not want to initially damage the hostels image but we were not happy with the lack of communication on the hostels behalf.

location fantastic, breakfast great, activities fully packedstaff were kind and accommodating for the most part but i would just like to air my frustration on the part that i had to keep moving beds because whenever i went home a new guest would always take mine.my stuff would always be on my bed yet they would still move it elsewhere acting totally ignorantthe very first night i was assigned to a specific bed and someone was already sleeping there. and this happened for the rest of my stay (3 days)i reported this every night to reception (they can even check their security footage of this for proof) and was told it was fine and transferring to the next available bed would be alright. on my last night, i was on my last straw. i reported that someone was on my bed again but when staff came to the room, the bed person showed proof that he was assigned to that bed. we headed back to the reception to discuss what happened and was told that i should have reported the incidents in the morning. the evening staff forced the narrative that she told us to tell the morning staff (just because the manager was there) yet me and my friend both know that every night we came to report to her, she said moving beds was totally alright.this experience was totally stressful, frustrating, and made me feel unsecured because my things kept on being moved around.do better in informing your guests and please own up to what you say to them.

The place is really nice, but I just had a really bad experience. I think I got put in the worst room possible, the basement should not be for rooms. It felt incredibly claustrophobic, no AC, you had a window that led to a wall. The room was sooo small you could barely walk to get in. You would walk out of the bathroom and you were literally on someone's bed 😭 the shower overflows. Also the bed is a piece of plastic with foam, not an actual mattress (which I'd expect for a hostel that's so much cheaper, not this one). Honestly hated being in that room. Then Hostelworld says there is a solo traveler mixer, I get there at that time, and no one, not even the staff had any idea there was anything going on. So they put events that are not even happening lol. They have a movie night, which is so fun because the space is so fun. I would say tho this is not the place to socialize like they claim to be :(Tbh it was just kinda sad to have had such a bad experience in such a beautiful city

I booked a bed because it was the cheapest near the city center (120 euros for two nights). It wasn't my first overnight stay in a youth hostel, but I would never come here again. The staff is nice, they checked me in even though I could have done it myself on a display.I booked a bed in a ten-person girls' room. This means that the air can become stuffy with so many people in the same room and you have to ventilate more often. Problem: The window cannot be opened. I understand that you cannot open the window for security reasons, but you could at least tilt the windows (it is possible in other youth hostels). We had two fans in the room, I doubt they did any good. It was very warm and stuffy in the room. At any time. The shower flooded the entire bathroom, barely had room to put my clothes anywhere. Since the ventilation didn't work there either, there was always steam in there and also mold. We couldn't leave the door open either, otherwise it would have gotten even hotter in the room.

Unfortunately the room was very, very small, which in itself is not a problem. But unfortunately we didn't have a window to the outside, only one to the internal atrium. This meant there was no way to let fresh air into the room. What's also a shame is that there was little to no storage space. Only two narrow shelves under the very short (40 cm) clothes rail with only three hangers. Hooks were also in short supply, only one hook in the whole room, right next to the door, you couldn't hang a thicker jacket there because otherwise it would have blocked the door. In the bathroom there were two hooks on the door, no other storage space. Definitely not enough storage and hanging options for four people. But the location is great, as is the service, although the cleaning staff should sweep the floors in the room and bathroom more often. It was only on the penultimate day (of five nights) that they came to sweep. In a hostel it's normal for things to get loud and people to party hard. But three days in a row, partying, drinking and loud school classes for several hours until 4/5 a.m. don't necessarily have to be the case. I would like security to stop by every now and then and politely ask people into their rooms.

a super well located Hostel, with well-appointed spaces large enough for a large number of people to sit in the lobby and bars. Decent rooms apart from the not very well appointed bathroom. There is quickly water everywhere on the ground but that is just a detail. Pleasant atmosphere and friendly, smiling staff. I totally recommend this hostel for people traveling solo, as a duo or more, even last minute!!
