We stayed as a family for 2 nights at the Hotel Ovelgönner Hof. Our 3 bed room was large and very clean. We had the room in an annex building. The room was simply but nicely furnished. The bathroom was small but sufficient and clean for us.We were only there to stay overnight anyway. That's why I can't understand some of the negative reviews. You don't stay in a hotel room all day.The breakfast was great. Plentiful and tasty.We felt very comfortable and if we visit Hamburg again we will definitely stay here again.

We were thrilled again! Our waitress was super nice and attentive, always at the table asking if something was missing or could I bring something else. She was very flexible when it came to eating, a daughter can't do everything (spices, ingredients), she coordinated it perfectly with the kitchen and it turned out greatr implemented !!!!! Our food all came together and was absolutely delicious. From the starter to the dessert everything was excellent, keep it up, see you again soon. Always delicious, from the knuckle to the roast beef

Rarely such a bad reception as this. Just rude. No good afternoon or welcome. Room not ready. We were able to forget a table at the restaurant, without explanation. And the room key was pressed into our hands. …

We followed the positive reviews and were unfortunately not very enthusiastic about our stay. When we wanted to check in at reception at 2 p.m., we were welcomed very surly by a gentleman. He curtly said that the room was not ready yet and that we should come back later.We wanted to reserve a table for dinner, but we also received a short but sweet answer. "Small Chance."He pressed a key into our hands, walked us outside to another building and informed us that our room would be ready somewhere on the 2nd floor. He explained where breakfast was and from what time to what time.That was that…We left by car and returned to the hotel after about 4 hours (we ate elsewhere).Room was an attic room. Old. Bathroom even older. The floor tiles were loose. Door could not close.When showering, the water did not drain properly and people were standing in water up to their ankles.The only highlight was breakfast. Friendly lady behind the counter. Buffet small but nice. So that was really neat.We paid with the friendly lady and left relieved.So a bad experience for us.We will not be coming back here again.

We spent one night in this hotel. Rooms clean, beds okThe dinner was absolutely good but the “order from the boss” was very questionable. All guests received a small ginger carrot soup as a greeting from the kitchen. I didn't get one, when I asked why we were told that the boss had decided that if someone at the table ordered an appetizer, in this case my husband, none of the other guests at the table would get the greeting from the kitchen. Sorry, illogical and strange!! Furthermore, the dog regulation is illogical. Our dog was allowed into the restaurant for dinner. Dogs are generally prohibited at breakfast in the adjacent building. It was explained to us that we could have breakfast one after the other or take something from the buffet ourselves and then have breakfast in our room.

We went to the restaurant with friends to eat, as the portions were very generous, we asked for half portions and were given them.The staff is very nice and attentive. The atmosphere was very cozy, so we had a nice evening.Always my pleasure

Price-performance is perfect, the breakfast is plentiful, nice and sufficient.BUT the mattress was completely worn out!! I lay in a hollow on the hard base of the mattress all night long!Guys, there's a better way!!

I don't understand how the good reviews come about here, for me this is one of the worst hotels ever. The room is narrow and stuffy, there is no window or ventilation in the bathroom. When you open the window you can hear the busy street very loudly and the smell of exhaust and mosquitoes blow in. Yesterday there was a wedding with music until night right in the building across the street and a fire brigade siren (?!!) that wailed three times at half past 12. I got some sleep, don't ask me how.Now this morning at 8:30 the smell of frying fat wafts into the room...Certainly ok for weddings, but not for overnight stays while traveling through.

We enjoyed the seasonal, delicious chanterelles with schnitzel and fried potatoes in the restaurant. Plus a great salad with mustard dressing.Price performance was great. We'll be back.

The hotel is located directly on the B73 and is therefore noisy during the day. I wouldn't recommend this for families with small children because the traffic is just too heavy. The atmosphere here is somehow cozy and rural and the food is expensive but surprisingly good. I would also recommend trying out the cooked take-away meals.
