We really liked the owner. He was kind and engaging. However, we were told when price was discussed as we checked in, that breakfast was included. At breakfast we were given a continental plate with bread on our table, which was fine. When asked if we wanted eggs, etc....we said no because we were trying to be kind and undemanding. Upon checkout he had added 35 more francs to our total for "breakfast". We were shocked! We paid it, but felt like we were robbed and left with a very bad feeling. Sad to say, but we wouldn't stay here again. Our transactions with this hotel were not fair.

Very close to the water, the stretch of Rhine that connects Lake Constance. Ideal for walking and relaxing. Very clean, quiet location, delicious and fresh food and very friendly staff!

A culinary experience - The Cordon bleu in the inn.I would like to share my enthusiasm for Gasthaus Ochsen, which serves a truly excellent cordon bleu. As a lover of this classic specialty, I was overwhelmed by the quality and taste experience that I was offered.The service quality was also excellent. The staff was attentive, friendly and accommodating. They were always willing to make recommendations and ensure guests were completely satisfied. The pleasant atmosphere and the inviting ambience contributed to an all-round successful visit.

Shortly before 1:30 p.m. we were greeted in a very friendly manner and (even though it's only open until 1:30 p.m.) we received a wonderful lunch menu for 22 francs (a "bargain" and worth every franc!):- salad (or soup)- Chicken breast baked with butter rice and basil oil- Fruit saladWe can fully recommend the inn, especially to hungry cyclists on the Lake Constance cycle path,-).
