The castle has seen its best years behind it. Very nice host, but he is overwhelmed by the facility alone. Breakfast, food, drinks and the reception, that can't go well in the long run. The location, the friendly operators and the fair prices are definitely positive.👍🏻

The castle hotel has a very nice and quiet location. It is located on the edge of the village of Fuchsmühl in a small side street a bit away from the main road. The castle is a sight in itself but there are others nearby too. Apart from your own car, the only way to get around comfortably is by taxi. The bus connections are as usual in the countryside and the nearest train station is several kilometers away in the next town. A short walk leads into the city. You can park your car free of charge in the hotel's own, unpaved, open-air parking lot.The castle has been renovated but is in keeping with the era. It's pretty and has charm. It has a lot more to offer, but I didn't take advantage of it. The style was consistently continued inside too. Everything is well-kept and exudes a touch of history and castle romance. The rooms are classified into different categories. They are spacious, furnished with everything you need and have a lot of flair. The bed and especially the pillow were very comfortable.The cleanliness was impeccable everywhere. Breakfast is included in the price and there is also free WiFi.The staff was always very friendly. All in all very nice. Thank you.

We celebrated our wedding there at the beginning of September. Since we had many guests from far away, the hotel was fully booked with our guests. We were very satisfied with the arrangements and implementation from start to finish. The family understands what service and service mean. I haven't been to a restaurant or hotel in a very long time where guests' wishes were taken into account in this way. Here we don't run away from work, but rather it is important that the work is done for us and that we have the best day.Thanks to the family for this wonderful celebration.

I can understand both the very good and the slightly worse reviews here. What fits this hotel quite well is: nothing whole, nothing half-baked.The warmth of the host and his wife makes up for a lot! But not all. I've stayed in accommodations that were just as warmly run and where it was more organized and cleaner.Top is:Location, peace, treesPond with fish, jetty with seating, goats as neighbors :), no noisy rooms, very good dinner (the landlady cooks herself).Can be developed and with a somewhat surprised and raised eyebrow:Cleanliness and organization: both in the rooms and in the rest of the facility.For example, the toilet brush in the room was full of paper fuzz from the previous person, yuck. You're saving in the wrong place. Whether the toilet seat was ever disinfected is questionable, it lacked the typical sign of it, just like so many other typical "hotel things" that you would expect from a hotel of this size, whether family-run or not: more staff, disinfection signs in the toilet , "made" towels, "made" toilet paper, etc. There was an ashtray on the balcony, which, like all the other ashtrays on the premises, was always emptied but never cleaned. Neither do the balcony furniture.I would only use the bath towel as a rag at home, the material was so thin.The bed was very soft and you could move it very easily, it almost "ran away" with every touch.It was very humid in the room and I couldn't find any air conditioning. All in all, the furniture was getting old, even if it really looks like it does in the photos. But upon closer inspection there were one or two glued holes. There is no closet for clothes, just a mobile clothes rail with three wire hangers.The beer ran out at dinner, even though it wasn't fully occupied, there was no dessert, nor espresso or cappuccino, there was only filter coffee, a dead spider lay on the stairs for two days (despite notice)...Old furniture, cracks in the walls, etc. could be overlooked if little things were done with love: like a clean toilet brush, good bath towels, an aired room, clean ashtrays and stairs, refilled drinks, refilled soap on the toilet Ladies toilet (was empty two days in a row)...The outdoor area is beautiful in itself, but somehow unusable and withering away. It really had potential. The Kneipp pool was full of leaves and not filled up, the beer garden and the outdoor area of the restaurant looked like they hadn't been used for months and it gave the impression that this wasn't going to happen anytime soon, even if the weather was already fine for it.I don't see it as price/performance ratio. The next day we stayed in a self-catering apartment that cost us the same amount but was bursting with cleanliness. Unfortunately, the included breakfast at the Schlosshotel Fuchsmühl cannot make up for this... Especially since the coffee pots in which the coffee is served seem to never be really cleaned.Despite everything: we slept well, it was OK, but not really great. I wouldn't come again.

It was an unforgettable wedding celebration. We were served nicely, politely and quickly. Hats off to how the family manages to do this. The hotel rooms were neat and spacious. At least that I had. The castle is in a quiet location and completely surrounded by greenery, beautiful. The food was very tasty.I can only recommend it to every bride and groom who likes it quiet. Keep it up and thank you again
