The room and the rest of the rooms were very clean. The breakfast was relatively good. The house has a certain charm and the location is beautiful. When we asked, the operator told us some interesting things about the guesthouse (built in 1910). One could argue about the taste in the furnishings of our room, but mine was not. But here too you have to put the price of €80 including breakfast into perspective. It was warm, there was a tea kitchen where we were able to help ourselves to the tea that was available. We'd love to come back.

Historical property with charm. Very fair overnight price including a rich breakfast. The owner is very friendly. The clocks tick differently here. Also very convenient location in town with thermal baths and hiking opportunities within a few minutes' drive.

Cool motel/ pension/ villa. In compare to the others, it’s a bit pricier but has more facilities. The breakfast is also enough. Rooms are cleans and the owner is also very friendly. You can play there as well.

It was difficult to get something in Altenau at short notice, so we came across Villa Kassandra. A large old villa in the Harz style. We had booked 3 double rooms as single rooms for a good 70 euros per room per night including breakfast. Everything was very lovingly furnished and had a special charm. There was no TV in the rooms, but there was a TV and games room, as well as a reading room. The owner was very friendly and talked to all the guests, almost like a family. The breakfast was good and plentiful, we felt very comfortable. Thank you very much for that, we'll be happy to come back.The villa has a rustic charm and the owner puts a lot of work into restoring the building. The rooms and everything else were clean, the beds were comfortable. One of the rooms had a shower in the hallway. There is no TV in the room, but there is a TV room, a games and reading room, and a kitchen with a refrigerator if you want to make something for yourself. The breakfast was sufficient, with plenty of coffee - what more could you want.

A beautiful accommodation. You have to know that there are rooms with shared sanitary facilities in the hallway. If you are aware of this, you will find loving accommodation here. The owner is very nice, very customer oriented. We felt very welcome and comfortable as a family of 3. The breakfast was very tasty. Thank you.

Villa Kassandra is a place we have been returning to for many years.Located in the Harz, it is a unique place to catch your breath for a few days. Uniquely furnished and equipped with a public kitchen, library and a cozy living room.Our room had a TV, shower and balcony.The bed was excellent.Breakfast is very extensive and always with a personal touch. You have your own coffee and tea pot on your table.

Nice clean room in a very interesting building. The whole house is beautifully furnished. There is the option to borrow a book or pass the time at the foosball table.The breakfast was great and there was something for everyone. The host was super nice and also had some tips for locations.

We stayed there for three nights and loved it. There was nothing we were missing. There is a kitchenette where you can borrow dishes and cutlery if necessary, as well as a microwave and kettle. There is also a playroom with CDs, board games and a table football (which my son really enjoyed). Room and breakfast were also absolutely fine.

Villa Kassandra has a very special atmosphere. The host was totally accommodating and friendly. The rooms are totally spacious and very clean. The breakfast in the large hall was very cozy and really nice with quiet music and a tiled stove. We'd love to come back.

We'd love to come back. Not a perfect and stylish designer property, but a pleasant house that is only slowly waking up from its slumber. On the breakfast table there are antique dishes with gold rims and/or floral patterns and the CD player plays Max Raabe. Nice owner, everything was spotlessly clean.

Really cozy hotel, a little gem, a place that encourages relaxation before going out to enjoy the beautiful natural areas.Several walking tours start from the hotel.Really nice breakfast.Clean and tidy everywhere.Free parking.The host is nice and service minded, which makes you feel welcome.Does not accept credit cards (hence only 4 stars)Can definitely be recommended.
